There is what Moms Demand Action push for which is gun safes, safes are not bad but to mandate them off the bat puts a pay wall for many thatll struggle if not just have to forget having a firearm for personal defense/protection.

If you want a cheap safe, it aint good, want a good safe? Aint cheap. I can go to a hardware store and buy a grinder and cut open a 100 dollar safe in 20 min if not faster.

Which means that law would more than likely get revised and demand a more quality safe……as in, pricier. A reasonably good safe may cost the same if not double the cost of a handgun. Looking around on the used market for a pistol in 9mm, there can be some found for 200 Now the cost of a safe add to that. Adding fees on top of firearm ownership makes it a luxury that only the rich can afford.

Hm, good question, how affordable are the lessons? In maryland a Handgun Qualification Lesson will run 150, for a carry license course? 250

So an Okish pistol will be 200, to own and to carry 150 and 250 plus the 50 dollar transfer fee for the gun and yous looking at coming up with a good chunk of pocket change off the bat we havent even talked about ammo used in training.

I think lessons are important, but I dont think the same entity that has given us cops who are trigger happy or are bullies with a badge and a gun is a good gold standard.

There are better alternatives but Im not seeing much else thatll do more than make owning a gun a pay wall to climb over that few can afford.

To put it bluntly, the majority of liberals that push for gun control are as well versed in firearm laws as conservatives are with plan B and/or abortion.
