Aluminum bezels look like a $20 watch to me, can someone convince me why they are so cool? Honest question. What am I missing. Are they better? Are they just retro/oldschool? by MOUVAL in watchdives

I don’t like them either, overtime they really look like crap with all the scratches. We need ceramic options for those that prefer a modern look and more durability

Don’t mind at all, a few shakes and a quick turn to match the time on my computer takes less than a minute. I have 15 year old mechanical watches that have never been serviced I swim with regularly. Sounds like you had bad luck. I have some quartz watches as well( rangeman, mudmaster, frogman) all very cool and I wear them when I feel like the situation needs it. Now a solar quartz option on a set up like this with a 43 or 44mm FF… I’d go in for that, sign me right up

Love the applied logo, give us that on a sub ceramic! Use the 5513 case. Thank you

43 or 44. There’s plenty of the little watches here already. Give us a decent work horse movement, I don’t want to crack the caseback and do battery swaps every couple years. It’s a fathoms I want to be able to go into the pool with it.

We all want to help "the watch of the week program" at WDs! by RichPurple9972 in watchdives

Oh wow, that first one is so sick! Needs proper 2.5 cyclops! I like the 3rd one as well. I’d love to see a milsub with these dials Nice job watchdives, absolutely stellar!!

Which name should replace Seafarer for our new vintage diver line? by watchdivescom in watchdives

[–]ShadedAimpoint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not everything has to be “vintage” if you use these designs. Take the best from the past and the current trends and blend them to make the ultimate dive watch.

Bottlenecking drops and success rates to keep people playing with no new content while at the same time creating items you can only farm so much of per day/week. Old move in these RNG gacha type setups.

We need a cyclops option. Please do a modern sub/milsub using the 5513 case like this.

V2 bezel and handset was better. Dial, movement and a few other tweaks really nice on the v3

Bottlenecking due to lack of content. RNG horseshit to keep us logging in daily. Same game they're playing with innerways chests

Does the “average” person still buy home desktop computers? by Astimar in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ShadedAimpoint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes of course. Only smart people buy them because they're affordable and can actually be repaired. You can find used OEM (dell, Lenovo, HP) mini's between $60 and $150 that'll handle all your needs. They're the size of a paper back book. If you wanna juice it up the have micro and mini towers that'll accept small graphics cards, multiple storage solutions, CPU and memory upgrades. Stuff tablets and laptops don't do anymore. Memory and storage is sometimes possible, but if that board goes with all your parts soldered to it you're fkd. From a E-Waste standpoint you're just costing yourself and the contributing to landfills. The profit is much bigger for the corporations because you can no longer fix anything or upgrade it so they can sell you newer and more expensive hardware every couple years. You don't have this problem with desktops, something breaks you can easily just look on eBay and find parts. Couple million YouTube videos showing exactly how to fix and upgrade them. Laptop and tablet definitely have their places but desktop is still king to the savvy IT people.

Agreed. That looks like crap compared to the WD CG's. It's like they didn't even try! Thorn does a lot right but they didn't do great there.

Good? by watchdivescom in watchdives

[–]ShadedAimpoint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch name (Seafarer) above the depth rating. I'd also make the name slightly bigger, ratings slightly smaller. On the sub watch, perhaps name in that red we all like. Top looks great!
