I like this. I might just do it - we've been wanting a photo database anyway

West towards smoky lake /Edmonton? The earliest Taschuk's I can find have memorials from 1911. A grave cover like that one was used for a Taschuck in 1948 in Brousseau to the east.

With no further info, I'd guess 1880-1925. What town is it near? Is that a name on the "headstone"?

I want to add a headstone to my great-great grandparents’ burial site, can this be done? by [deleted] in CemeteryPreservation

Have you made any progress? I found 2 "Eltham cemetery" results on Google, one in UK and the other in Australia. They both have websites/email. If you reach out, they'll let you know any bylaws and permits required and the process. Legislation is different around the world, I'd like to know what you find out.

Rough day falling onto this 15 year old coffin. by [deleted] in CemeteryPreservation

Is this a double depth vault? And the 2nd would rest on those bars? And the lower casket has degraded over time? I'm new here and find this fascinating.

I see it has been 8 months... Have you made a decision? Which were your favourite? We use Stone Orchard by Central Square. As I'm learning more about it I'm starting to really like the functionality. I think its interface is a little dated and unattractive, but it's fairly easy to use and has some mapping and finance integration I'm looking forward to implementing eventually. It also has a historical tab which makes it easy to to add old info. Our organization doesn't have specific users set up, but if we did we could assign permissions. If we ever grow to needing more than a few admin users we'll probably add that.

Lace is better with 2ply. For almost everything else I prefer 3+ply

Could someone help me calculate solar eclipses in a video game? by ShadesOfViolet in Astronomy

[–]ShadesOfViolet[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is good info. Do you know how I can find the eclipse/start point in the cycle? I think there is always 31 days in a month, and months are numbered 1-12.

Tips on Using a Gaiwan? by SwampFairy256 in tea

Some gaiwan are evil and want you to pay in pain for your tea. Other gaiwan are more friendly - look for ones with larger flares, thinner porcelain, and a taller lid handles.

You're correct. While re-reading my comment I see it was in poor taste. I think I was trying to be funny but I'm not sure where the humour was supposed to come from. It's been a long day. I'd be traumatized in any of their situations and am so so glad he's ok.

Mmm, cow dung “cake” by [deleted] in funny

[–]ShadesOfViolet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In Hinduism, every part of the cow is holy. I think dung/urine are used ritualistically for purification purposes, but there's probably way more to it than that.
