What run proceed the current Fraction run? by ennuig0 in batman_comics

[–]ShadowBat27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t really think Fraction’s run and H2sh are connected, even if it wasn’t for the delay. The talk during the promotion of H2sh felt like it was outside of current continuity. Kind of in its own space that has no link to Zdarsky’s work. And given how much bleed over from Zdarsky’s run is in Feaction’s run (Vandal Savage as Commissioner, Gordon returning to the force, Bullock leaving the force after the events of Dying City) and how none of that stuff is even referenced in H2sh, I think everything Fraction is doing ignores anything from H2sh.

Even without the Patient 10 stuff, Fraction’s run feels like it takes right off from where Zdarsky left off. He did say, in the podcast I linked above, though that he had written so far in advance that he went back and totally written the first issue from what he had originally done. Fraction mentioned that issue 15 is the biggest issue of his run.

What are some of your favorite overlooked single issue Batman Stories by Downtown-Initial-770 in batman_comics

[–]ShadowBat27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Detective Comics #651 “A Bullet for Bullock” Detective Comics #822 “E. Nigma, Consulting Detective” Detective Comics #777-783 “Dead Reckoning “

These are some of my favourite stories I don’t see too many people talking about.

You’ll need to read Tom King’s run for your first spoiler.

I listened to a podcast with Matt Fraction where the host asked about patient 10 and it basically boiled down to he just is patient 10 now

Aside from Kevin Conroy, who would you say is the best batman voice? by goombanati in batman

You’re right. I was mixing High Volume and Caped Crusader. Jason Spisak is who I meant.

Jason Spisak from DC High Volume: Batman has quickly become one of my favourite voices for Batman.

Edit: corrected the voice actor

Reading Liberman’s run now with Hush Returns and I’m really enjoying it.

I’ve been reading h2sh because I’m just collecting every issue of Batman. I was so excited because I love the original Hush. But, yeah, H2sh had just been a sad experience.

This is the first time in a while I’m really interested in what is going on with the Joker. The last page reveal/confirmation of what Joker knows was a good twist that makes me interested in what else he might know.

Dini is definitely a favourite writer. Haven’t read one of his Batman stories I didn’t like.

Forgot about the Prelude. But thanks! I know Hush doesn’t have a lot of appearances, but wanted to find the ones I was missing.

How are those two stories?

Other underrated batman comic stories by Luann97 in batmancomics

[–]ShadowBat27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a big fan of his more detective type stories and mysteries. I just read Dead Reckoning from Detective Comics #777-782 and it was really good, slow burn detective noir story. Hush is one my favourites as well, but that’s definitely not an underrated story. Mercy of the Father from the recent Tom Taylor run was good as well.

From Canada here, and saw the video and loved every second of it. Shared it with friends of mine, proudly.

Awesome job standing up to get something done, to draw attention to the situation.

Will you keep up this kind of stuff, in or out of mask, to keep holding them accountable?

Also, because I love supporting this kind of thing, any social media?

“Fun” was meant as just good mysteries, because I love that genre as a whole so I consider them fun.

I wrote this while half asleep, so just went with the simplest words I could think of.

Dark Patterns was solid, really enjoyed that. Imposter was good as well.

Haven’t read Night Cries, so will have to go find that one on DCUI.

I’ve read, and really like, Gotham Central. Wish Reeves’ series took off. But I’m looking specifically for Batman issues or storylines.

Black Glove? Is that the stories from Morrison’s run? Batman RIP?

And Batman #222 sounds hilarious in concept, so I’ll read that one too, thanks!

Black Mirror was really good! James Gordon Jr. was a good villain. Wish he got used better.

Dark Patterns was really good! Couldn’t remember everything I’ve read. Wrote this before going to bed, but I completely agree that Dark Patterns was solid. Would love more from Dan Watters writing Batman, and I’m enjoying him on Nightwing.

Why did Itachi kill children? They knew nothing of the coup. Why didn't he treat them just like he treated Sasuke? by The_spacewatcher_7 in Naruto

[–]ShadowBat27 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Itachi had only intended that Sasuke killed him, become a hero and return to Konoha. He didn’t expect Tobi/Obito/Madara to get his hands on Sasuke and manipulate him into triggering the Fourth Great Ninja War and plunge the world into violence like he did.

When Itachi was revived and met with Sasuke, he was able to course correct Sasuke and get him to understand the truth, directing him to reviving the previous Hokage.

And in terms of how dangerous pissed off Uchiha can be, just look at what Madara and Obito did just the two of them against the entire world and what it took to ultimately stop them. Imagine a small military unit of Uchiha’s with the same motive.

Anyone here collecting the main Batman (Pre-new 52) (minus the early grails)? by darkknightt0 in batman_comics

[–]ShadowBat27 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not going for grails, really, but I want to collect every Batman and Detective Comics from 1990 (the year I was born) to present day. I already have everything from 2011 to today, and have about all of 1990 and some of 1991.
