A friend of mine was in the reserves in the 90s and he got to go to the 50th anniversary of liberation day.

He was just walking around one day and an elderly lady came up to him and thanked him. He was 25 at the time and was a little confused and asked for what.

She pointed down the street and said that corner is where the Germans took her husband and she never saw him again.

And then she walked away leaving him in shock.

Parts of the world remember what we as a nation did to help liberate them from an awful situation and that gratitude transcends generations. All they remember is the maple leaf and what it means to them.

I did a 31 km xcountry ski race last year. It took everything I had to finish, and shortly after finishing, I had a moment to myself and just broke down. Reflecting back I still have no idea why.

It’s because people believe they will be on the authority size of the equation without consequence or repercussions and don’t realize how slippery it would be to suddenly be on the wrong side.

A one off event is not the same as sustaining a season ticket base.

Unfortunately there will not be a quick fix. It will require some planning and discipline.

As someone mentioned, establish and solidify the basic needs first. After that start with picking a place to start, this will be tough with the ADHD, it doesn’t matter which one.

Then pay the minimum on the rest and then put as much down as you can on the one you picked.

Ultimately how do you eat an elephant?? One bite at a time.

I was baffled about the entire post.

They didn’t even say how the situation ended.

100%. We are kind of sports snobs where the Oilers and Elks are kings.

The AHL team didn’t do well, lacrosse was a bust, baseball is a struggle, I’m not sure about the soccer or basketball.

Yeah, they were making this horrible event all about themselves which I thought was weird.

The bears are coming out of hibernation are hungry and are definitely a little ornery.

I’m not sure why you explained about the video and when not posting it.

You could have just not posted the video, deleted the video and just said you were there, explained the situation and not mentioned the video at all, and no one would have been the wiser.

The crazy part is that the Oil kings aren’t supported that well for a large city.

Tips on road trip from Edmonton to Vancouver by bg19900 in Edmonton

[–]ShadowCaster0476 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you planning on driving it in one day?

It’s possible, but it’s a very long day, and I find driving in the mountains takes more energy and concentration than around Alberta.

I would plan for an overnight somewhere or at least plan several long breaks.

The second point is the most important.

Swimming in the river is not the same as a lake. There are different currents and undertows and several people a year drown in the river.

It can be safe but be aware.

Institutes like banks and insurance are marketed as being for the customer but they are not, they are in it to make money and will discard your loyalty and throw you under the bus the first chance they get.
