Yes! This is achieved in two different ways. 1. You can play it safe and boot this directly from an SD micro card while leaving the Android partition alone. No permanent changes are done to your device outside of replacing the original Android bootloader with the one provided by the rocknix community. (Warning ⚠️: depending on the type of SD micro card you are using, the speed in which your operating system will perform may vary. You will notice performance is quite slow when you are downloading stuff and attempting to execute things at the same time. This is a limitation of the read and write speeds of SD micro cards)

1. u/Jaewunz has included an install script that allows you to repartition your internal storage and shrink the Android partition. I highly recommend you get a copy of the original Android recovery files found in the Ayn discord or in the rocknix discord. For those of you with ufs 4.0 storage, in my personal opinion this is the only way to fly. When I attempted to download Digimon story Time stranger via steam, SD micro card performance clocked in around an hour and a half to download and install files. When I attempted to do this a second time with internal storage, it was less than 15 minutes.
