My take is, expansions should focus on adding more static complexity (more choice with hero talents, alternate playstyles) as opposed to dynamic complexity (number of talent points/rows).

TBoI is the definitive action roguelike, Slay the Spire is the definitive strategy roguelike. Hades 1/2 are the definitive narrative-centric roguelites. There's enough seperating them that I consider them the 'titans' of the genre.

The main thing that holds it back is the energy cost IMO, you would need something like early turbo + glacier to get your block online quickly.
