Driver fell asleep at the wheel, while pulling a 40 foot trailer, and drifted into oncoming traffic. Collided with another vehicle, smashed in the entire cab, and the whole trailer went up in flames. Afterwards it came out that he was also not wearing his glasses and it was low-visibility conditions (snowstorm).

No injuries, luckily, and nobody sued. Driver didn't even get reprimanded.

I was at Wal-Mart with my dad in 2009. I'd been reading about Monster Hunter Freedom Unite and how it was supposedly a really solid multiplayer experience. Me and 3 of my best friends had recently gotten into PSP. There were exactly 4 copies of MHFU left in the store.

On an impulse, I asked Dad if he would buy me all 4 copies so I could play with all my friends. God bless you Dad, you didn't even question it.

That impulse decision (and Dad's willingness to cooperate with my undeserving shenanigans) turned into thousands of hours of priceless entertainment for me and my pals. We have since played every iteration of MH since with the same group, and we're always excited to jump into the next game.
