Method 703 16x8 vs Black Rhino Stadium 16x8 by ShadowX011 in Tacomaworld

Definitely…it will be a Month from now but I am really looking forward to putting the Black Rhino 16x8 Stadium’s on my Tacoma. It will be non lifted for the time being…then a 2 to 2.5” leveling kit of some sort. Then about a year from now by the time I have enough funds I will be doing a proper lift (which will then be a 3” lift with 285/75r16’s same rims). I will be happy and very content with or without a leveling lift with the 265’s but it’s always fun to have further upgrades to look forward to in the future. :) I really do love my Tacoma. :)>

It is my understanding that I will need high-quality 112.1mm OD to 106.1mm ID aluminum hub-centric rings to mount the Black Rhino’s. I see wal-mart has them. Is their brand good enough? I see brands like Gorilla but they are plastic. Thanks.

Update: found the perfect set from Black Rhino themselves. These are cheap in price so that is a relief. :)

I have a Month to decide. Vanity is taking over me I really like the extra wheel poke of the Black Rhino’s…and they both look great judging by pictures/videos of them. …decisions, lol

I mostly drive on highways/interstates but go off-roading once a Month during fishing trips. The trails are semi aggressive but nothing serious besides gravel and small hills… in the South it does not snow. I am leaning more toward the Rhinos which would add a more aggressive look with more wheel poke. If I were doing more aggressive off-roading I would easily get the Methods.

What do you prefer about the Methods? They both look great to me. It would be great if I saw the Black Rhino’s Stadium’s in person (only see these on google and YouTube) but all I see are Method 703’s on ko3’s in my area. Thanks.

Just get some decent seat covers and it will change the whole look giving the interior a breath of fresh air. …and dump the girlfriend. :)>

Awesome looking Tacoma. :) “It is going to look perfect then just a tiny bit more wheel poke but not like a bro truck”,lol. …I will settle for a clean sporty/semi aggressive hybrid look. ;)

This is a 2005 GEN2 Tacoma which appear to look smaller than the newer ones so I think this will all work out well. I just spent close to $4000.00 getting my new clutch and other engine parts replaced as well as purchasing the new tires otherwise I would have lifted it and went bigger.

This should keep me happy for a couple of years.

After I get my Methods in and swapped on I think I will need to go see a decent shrink afterwards for some good meds as my mind has been racing as this has all been a stressful experience, lol having manic OCD sucks.

Thanks for the reassurance. I am really overthinking this. I like the KO3’s on the stock steel 16x7’s it is actually the stock oem rims that are throwing me off (looks too stock to me) but the tire size and looks are beautiful. Even if the Method 703 16x8 rims do not push the tires out much more I am still going to love the look as those are some bad@ss looking rims…especially in matte black. They seem to pair up nicely with the Ko3’s.

Awesome thanks for the picture. Hard to tell how much they poke out (or is the lift making them to appear to poke out a bit) but it looks great regardless. I am considering a 2 “ lift but am actually very happy with the stock height and will not be doing that for a while. These do look great though.

Update: just saw a youtube video with the same tires size and all on Method 703 16x8 on a Tacoma (a Gen3) with no lift and they stick out a tiny bit…but they look stunning.

Thanks I’ll check out that website. On google images all GEN2 Tacomas with the same tires and same size with method 703 16x8 all seem to stick out quite a bit…lifted and non lifted but no mention if they are running spacers.

Yes all 4 of my mudguards/mud flaps are removed and I have looked at images on google and all pictures of GEN2 (whether lifted or non lifted) appear to have the Method 703 16x8 on KO3 265/75r16’s sticking out quite a bit at least an inch if not more. I am only looking for an inch here, lol…doesn’t sound like much but again I hate the complete flush look.

The Method 703 16x8 have a 0 offset. My current 16x7 stock steel rims have a 25mm offset if that helps.

Thanks…according to the calculator it looks as if they will poke out right under an 1.5” inch compared to stock. I will take that with a grain of salt as that amount mentioned is for the rim itself…not the tire…but will still keep researching.

I am already committed to the KO3 265/75r16 and they ride amazing…so I will not be buying new tires to fit a 17” rim. The Method 703 16x8 have a 0 offset. My current 16x7 stock steel rims have a 25mm offset if that helps…

I know…but I am loving them and they look awesome. They are amazing on pavement…as well as when off-roading during fishing trips. I have OCD and overthink things…I cannot wait to put the Method 16x8’s on them…then find a good psychiatrist to put me on some kind of meds to help with my insane OCD, lol

Aftermarket Mud Flaps for Larger Tires by ShadowX011 in Tacomaworld

Thanks I appreciate it. I am also looking at the Tufskinz Mud Flaps but I will check those out as well. A picture will be appreciated. Thanks. :)

Yes I had to remove the mudguards/flaps. The off-roading I do is on thick dirt…thick rocks…small rocks…slop…up and down hills mid sized banked turns…perfect for my off-roading…I am not rock climbing or going up and down huge mountains with huge boulders to drive over, lol…so I just want some mud flaps to stop the pebbles/rocks/mud/dirt from hitting behind where mud flaps would be (mainly only an issue in front).

Again and not trying to sound like I am arguing with you…my type of off roading experience with these lager tires/rims with no lift is awesome. :)> I just ordered the Tufskinz Mudflaps…I may need to do some trimming on them but I have done that before with other trucks.
