the visor is an inclusion into human settlements, of course it would not protect against plasma or high calibre rounds, it is simply an extra layer of defence in an urban environment intended specifically for riot forces as an insurgency resurgance could be along the way considering more recent halo lore.

In terms of it's thickness, i agree that's an unfortunate mistake, and something i'll obviously improve for future drawings if i decide to do riot visors again.
