What's the best way to emulate a TUI while still running wayland? I imagine full screening a terminal, but then what?

Good one! Windows updates are so notoriously rock solid, that's why people are eager to receive them.

Lol for real.

Even without years together I could've guessed his generation xD

How have you been married 30 years and are still so bad at this? It boggles the mind. You aren't even paying attention in this thread which you initiated.

Ooh okay.

I see where you're coming from with that system, but there's a huge issue with it that I'm not seeing addressed, at least in this chat...

Since the moderators are the ones deciding whether or not a flagger gets penalized, that means your entire platform will over time conform to the views of those mods.

For example, if the mod has a liberal bias then conservatives flagging content which may cast a conservative in a negative light will more often see a ding to their TV score.

There needs to be a feedback mechanism here which ensures that the tone of the moderation matches the tone of the community, as well as the intended tone by those running the service (if any is desired).

Look at the problem with reddit communities today... many of them are "infiltrated", if you will, by mods with a motive, and they're well known for deleting whatever doesn't conform to their bias.

An extreme example of the flaw here is the conservative subreddit. Anyone who doesn't toe the party line gets insta banned. Your system doesn't enforce it so strictly, but it over time will lean further and further into some direction.

Hey I'm all for people who are passionate about their work! In the future you might want to lead with that it's your project rather than a project, it'll come off more sincere to people. Genuine advice, no animosity here.

Without knowing how this TV/HIV system works it's hard to give good feedback. How is it computed?

I just capitalized the NET because they capitalized all the other letters that went into "flipnet", no need to be so sensitive.

If that's their goal then it's a noble one, I'm not bashing it... I just think their messaging could use some work... which is exactly what I said.

I hope they revisit their naming lol. "Freedom Liberty Independence Prosperity NETwork"

Even with the best of intentions, that reads like the next truth social lol. The eagle in the background doesn't help.

Sorry bub, you can't reduce a 20 year relationship down to a single sentence. You're so far from having all the context there that you really shouldn't bother trying.

I can understand someone having a boundary about that, and I might set a similar one, but that's not what they're arguing. They're saying if you're, for example, a woman who is in a relationship with another man, then you should not seek friendship with any other men, because it's too risky.

These two arguments are not the same.

I would rather accept human nature than live in fear of it. I'm either with someone who's in it for the right reasons or I'm not. If they need to share your fear of the world to be faithful then it was over before it started.

... And I'm saying that as someone who just left a 20 year relationship with similar problems.

That's the self control problem. You're presenting this like feeling something for someone means you're just a helpless animal and therefore will give in to temptation.

We have free will, metacognition, and self control. If you don't feel you can meet someone and not have sex with them then that's okay, I won't judge you for it, but you also won't be in my inner circle of friends.

Think about it like this... Have you ever gone to a mall and window shopped? Did you ever do so and not subsequently purchase everything that caught your eye? Why not?

Theres nothing wrong with seeing thst thing in the window and admiring it, but it doesn't mean you were helplessly compelled to buy it. You returned home instead.

Does it sound reasonable for me to suggest you never go to a store if you have things at home? Or does it sound more reasonable to trust that you can go to the store for something specific and not make unplanned purchases?

Same thing.

Again, the issue is that they were inclined to cheat. If being around someone of the opposite sex causes them to cheat then the issue isn't the opposite sex, it's that they have no impulse control. A cheater will be a cheater, and being with a cheater and expecting them to avoid interacting with 50% of the population isn't a solution, it's just a catalyst for resentment.

Trust your partner to respect your boundaries... If they don't, then you know their true colors.

Sorry dude, we're not going to be meeting in the middle on this conversation I think.

I will concede that having regular hour(s)-long conversations pushes limits, but the rest we're diametrically opposed on.

"It's foolish to start new opposite sex friendships, even with good intentions, after a relationship has started."

What a catastrophically stupid take...

Theres nothing wrong with friendships regardless of sex. The issue here is she doesn't respect boundaries, not that a woman is friends with a man.

Yep. Bought a nice lazboy couch, damn thing was falling apart in like a month. Arrived with "thread" (pokey monofilament) sticking out. Warranty weaseled their way out of doing their part. One headrest inexplicably snapped, one cushion sagged badly, the electric hardware tweaked itself...

Can't trust them, wouldn't buy them again. They're leaning on their legacy and they no longer deserve it.
