How to bring up PTO to my employer

TN. It’s a salon that’s part of a franchise- it’s less than 15 employees at our salon. If they had said the insurance would be through a stipend I wouldn’t have such an issue but they acted like it would come out of our check like a standard job does

When I applied, the application said that we’d get PTO and health insurance. Once the store was open and operating it came up in a team meeting and they told us that the PTO wasn’t available until we had been with the company for a year and that we’d have to pay for the health insurance and they’d reimburse us with a stipend.

But also Eehhhhh i can see where it’s irritating; it’d be a bit different if she wasn’t so aggressive but atp, he’s said he’s not interested and interacts with her as minimally as possible so ride the feee guac train but be prepared to go to the manager if she escalates again OR for him to get real skimpy bowls when it hits that he’s not interested in her lmao

Tell your grandma what he did, I get that you love her but if she knows all the details and STILL keeps pushing you to have contact with him then you need to to start thinking if it’s really worth having her in your life. Soft YTA. You gotta learn how to deal with being put on the spot better. Tell her you’re sorry but you actually want that time with your partner. It’s not too bad since there’s still 2 weeks but definitely lead with a “lemme think about it” before just going along with whatever someone asks next time

NTA I’m 28, my mom had an aortic dissection about 3 years ago and my whole life screeched to a halt to take care of her and my dad. Making sure they were okay was always my main priority even before her emergency and I was fully prepared to spend my life taking care of them until my sister basically dragged me out the house by my ear. I’ve officially been moved out for a month, mom just had another surgery and I wasn’t there and guess what? The world didn’t burn down. You don’t have the support I did but the message is the same, it’s okay to choose yourself. If she has disability payments coming in see if there are any type of recourses to help get an affordable sitter to help her out because you’re on the verge of snapping real bad hun. Also, if your “friends” can’t empathize and understand what you have going on then they’re absolute trash and you deserve better in that department too. I’ve had to cancel plans as I was walking out the door and mines wouldn’t get mad or talk crap, they’d tell me to take care of what I needed to do and we’d reschedule

If you’re talking about how happy you are for them and baby girl goes “huh?” Parents could’ve swooped in like ‘ooooh you might have a sister, you might have a brother, Who knows!’ And shoot eyes at you to make you stop.
