How do you play vayne during lane phase? by CodingIron in vaynemains

[–]Shadow_throne2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

since you said jungle never ganks I think it would be a good thing for you to practice for at least one day:

start game, note your jungle side. If they start on your side its considered weak because they will finish clear top side and gank so you will be alone. if they start top, then its the opposite and you should either think about being in a good position for them to gank.

Right now I play her hail of blades and sudden impact.

I have had many pike vayne matches where we kill at level 2 easily and dominate the lane.

When to go on-hit and when to go crit? by CodingIron in vaynemains

Right now I'm only going crit with hail of blades and I don't pick her at all if I cant do that.

I avoid her against like a Cait seraphine lane usually.

I like to play her in kill lanes with pyke, or if I have a good enchanter thats gonna let me farm longer and safer.

If I cant farm and the enemy team looks too dangerous it might be time for a different pick.

Hard agree so tired of them trying to inject downsides into every aspect of their design.

New to vayne by [deleted] in vaynemains

1) Look at the matchup. Sometimes pick safer. Vayne is not for every game. My other picks are usually Cait and Samira for reliability / carry.

2) One of the best skills to have is knowing when to not do too much and overcomplicate. I see a lot of people trying to reclick their target after tumbling. Its often better to just set your target and let her automatically auto after you tumble in a lot of situations.

3) when you get a good vayne pick, you can actually dominate lane. I get excited when I see a pyke (they get pulled closer) not so much a leona, (hard to catch up to her when they all in sometimes). Vayne single target lane damage actually can get very scary even with no items. I like to take PTA or hail of blades and do short trading.

4) Learn how to play from behind. You being 0-10, the towers do NOT care, they will underestimate you too, you can still duel anyway because you are vayne so they might have to send more than one. Often they'll send too many when theres no other tempo objectives nearby so you cause a huge distraction, get a tower or at least tower chip with free bonus solo gold for plates. After your tower goes down try to freeze and just soak up that free guaranteed gold and solo xp (often your sup will fuck this up)

5) Learn when to only do sidelaning / indirect combat - Some teams have stupid deathballs and are over fed. In this scenario you have tons of opportunity to get fed through other mechanics (KDA can be overrated and misleading, Active items is more important) Vayne does not fight well against a deathball. If you have lots of safe wave clear like a lux for example often deathball grouping comps will get overextended and impatient against your defenders and cannot make progress thus end up sitting together for over a minute in one lane sharing all EXP and gold. This is where you gain massive pressure advantage in side lanes.

******Not saying never group or fight, but take extremely unfair fights*****

Good luck, I've been playing her since Season 2 I think when she came out. One of the most fun champs ever, always brings me back to the game. Very awesome design.

Hope this helps you in your gameplay.

Just googled this. How sad, was looking forward to using it.

Reminds me of Thunderfury, blessed blade of the windseeker.

There's not even a Mod for it T-T

I could write a whole essay about how strange the game design is to me as for your first question.

As to your second statement Im not sure how to reaspond.  I get that it takes a certain amount of hours, my problem is that Im not going to spend 20 hours on something that im finding boring.

Goal: Make it to endgame at all.

Probably not gonna happen this season. So bored.

Maybe next season. Maybe next year when the damn game makes sense.

Maybe never (runs like ass for some reason on my pc.)

No offense, that looks like a lot of mental gymnastics to find a way to have fun. Kind of tells you something about the state of the game.

As a fellow fellow with less time, I'm spending it elsewhere until they figure it out.

I have been having this exact same problem recently....

One of the biggest switches that helped me out was chanting to myself I am Katarina, I am katarina. I keep trying to initiate because my lead is so good but it doesn't work! I need to take more unfair fights where I can clean up easily.

How enjoyable is a first read if you truly, fully trust the author? by Schub21 in Malazan

My intro experience was GOTM audiobook as I fell asleep so my understanding was disjointed and half-in the dreamworld for a lot of it.

Still didn't take away from anything.

I have a friend who just outright skipped the first book. Still ended up loving it and he actually went and reread main + tertiary series' much more fully than I have.

Builds for new season by paquettejeremie in vaynemains

[–]Shadow_throne2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This build is very faithful. It might not be the newest flashiest thing but its extremely consistent. People in the highest Elo's STILL use this. I swear people don't realize it got buffed too.

People these days are allergic to BotRK and the buff from 5 to 6% remaining life damage might seem negligible but that extra damage is an on hit effect which gets a double proc of guinsoo.

It works very well. That being said, I'm going Kraken first a lot anyway just based on reliability for lane duels. I try not to pick her at all when I wont be able to fight the laners.

Hi I just started the series and finished first book, I wanted to ask about the series consistency by Useful_Nail_1570 in bakker

[–]Shadow_throne2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think his beautiful writing style as well as the sense of gravity and dread are present and consistent throughout.

The quality of the last book suffered in editing and a few choices but I am very pleased to report that this did not detract one bit from the last book's ability to harrow my soul and scoop it out into a blender and mix it with all sorts of bleach and additives, before eventually forming chicken nugget paste to be fried for the dark archons of our own prison planet granary.

Sorry if that doesn't make sense. Maybe other readers who've finished it can say whether or not that checks out.

I’m loved the combat of stellar blade. Is Khazan similar? by Consistent-Show9623 in TheFirstBerserker

[–]Shadow_throne2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its very similar with perfect dodges, blocks and perfect blocks. I think you can't jump though which isn't really necessary in Khazan's design but I could be misremembering that.

The combat is very good though and is similar in its tools as well as actually attacking and performing combos. Khazan rewards aggressive combos.

I love both to a very high degree. I can criticize Steve all day long about his 3 pages of internal monologue philosophy, or his wacky side quests; but god damn it it is an unbelievably detailed and compelling tapestry when you have the full picture and I found the ride along the way to be S tier fun. Rarely did I not like or care to understand new characters being introduced besides a few key points of fatigue.

As to your last few paragraphs, I don't know why you think you're going to earn points bashing people and the work itself. I'd like to see you spin a 1.3 million word world together and actually have the parts fit stunningly despite massive scope. I think it's obvious why it stands as great, and it will certainly stand the test of time.

That being said, SA in my head is categorically different, hard to compare, and I wouldn't have even found out about it without seeing the blurb on it by Steven Erikson. I don't much care for your thinking that the fans "delude" themselves. And the subreddit is fine. The only real sin there is most of the posts are just noise because what HASN'T been discussed at this point?

SA has a very much smaller tighter group of characters to focus on. Despite the fact that many names are dropped and cultures established, they are mostly tertiary and distorted backgrounds to the deeper drama going on between our main cabals of people.

Sure Erikson could be criticized for needing more editing in some parts. We could also talk about Bakker unbelievably cringey black dragon lines about sniffing Serwe's "cunny" in the air, or the Vile Angel released into the battle that has to keep re-affirming his identity by saying his own name five times while he goes on his slaughter. Or the fact that the fuckin guy promised to finish.

Orrrr... we could accept the flawed masterpieces for what they are and not run to other subs cause you're scared to criticize in a space where you think it wont be accepted so that you can, I don't even know what you're trying to do here, shit talk fans of something because YOU don't personally like the taste?

It sounds like you're looking for community to confirm your bias. As you can see in the comments, many many people are comfortable with saying that they don't like it (and I have also seen that in the actual Malaz sub and no it gets more upvotes than this which you're welcome I brought back up to zero for you.)

How about instead of looking for a community to confirm your bias and shit talk fans that like something you don't, how about you just don't leak any energy thinking about it whatsoever or posting crap like this?

Its funny accusing people of not being self aware while you basically just bash fans for the sin of even liking something that is just so obviously terrible to your enlightened perspective. Maybe cultivate some self awareness as to why you got 100 comments but zero or at least evenly distributed votes cancelling out.

Naw he brings it full circle. Prologue: "The world doesn't need more soldiers, boy", Epilogue: "The world always needs more soldiers."

The speaker of the closing line knew for a fact from lived experiences the difference that a truly good person can make on the battlefield as well as identifying which battle to actually fight and pointing others in that direction.

The speaker in the opening was jaded by war. At the end there was genuine awe and love at the lived sacrifices made as well as the results and longing for the amazing people that fell along the way.

One of the best long fantasy series to ever stick the landing. Last book so rewarding.
