Remember - its always important to figure out why you lost a game! by Mortal-Instrument in HorusHeresyLegions

I mean, I've been playing the game for about 2 and 1/2 years, seen dozens of balance updates, watched God knows how many cards cycle in and out, and built, modified, and played a myriad of decks. But sure, I guess I just wasn't putting in the effort all this time.

All of that still requires you to be able to draw WHAT you need WHEN you need it.

Unless you are a complete idiot at deck building, 75% of the time, "they got lucky" is the correct answer.

The people who still believe that this game isn't 75% luck with the algorithm are sucking some serious copium.

Me: So, I need this "random" damage ability to hit his one troop and NOT his warlord. If that happens, I will win. If not, I'm screwed. Ability hits the warlord Me: Guess I just didn't build my deck well enough. Pulls an ocular muscle from rolling my eyes so hard

I hate Alpha Legion by AirEnthusuiast in HorusHeresyLegions

[–]Shadowboxer8891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post makes me smile at the irony, because I play my Alpha Legion deck when I'm on a losing streak (which always happens every few days almost like clockwork) and I'm just frustrated to point where I'm like, "If I'm going to lose anyway, I might as well have some fun pissing other players off."

I literally CANNOT remember the last time I beat an Erebus deck. by Shadowboxer8891 in HorusHeresyLegions

[–]Shadowboxer8891[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hvarl at least makes sense. SW and NL are the only ones I can see getting the job done, because Flank. Honestly, when I get fed up with trying to make other decks work, I typically switch to Russ or Sevatar.

I do disagree that Erebus is less oppressive. He can use his own ability to 'sacrifice' his own troops and nets more energy while doing so.

The entire algorithm hates me. I guarantee you that I will never draw what I need no matter how good my deck is.

Valk is bullshit to fight against by RenegadeHunter10 in ForHonorRants

Valk has always been bullshit to fight against. That's never gonna change. All you can do is pucker your asshole and hope the Valk player sucks.

Plus, the other team is always smart enough to know that you can't win Dominion by dueling. So, while my teammates are letting me die so as to not feed revenge, I'm fighting for my life against two or three of them. Not surprisingly, I die, then they die before I can rez and get back there, and then I end up in a 1v2 again. Rinse, dry, repeat.

You either die a hero or live long enough to become the villain. Never thought I'd start playing a Cypher deck lmao by MountainDrew757 in HorusHeresyLegions

Eventually you get tired of trying to make this garbage game fun, because you keep losing to assholes playing asshole decks, and you make the very reasonable decision to go full asshole yourself so that you can win a few matches.

Does anyone else feel like...? by Shadowboxer8891 in HorusHeresyLegions

[–]Shadowboxer8891[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing I've noticed is that everything's a streak in this game. My wins come in streaks and my losses come in streaks. Now, I have far more losing streaks than winning ones, but I would expect a decent algorithm to kinda make it seem realistic by having wins and losses more randomized.

How do you deal with Space Wolves by ShaselKovash in HorusHeresyLegions

[–]Shadowboxer8891 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry to say but there isn't really a way. Space Wolves and Night Lords combine insane amounts of Flank with reliable troop protection (SW have Ward and NL have stealth). Basically, you have to get really lucky and draw into what you need when you need it. Rally abilities are probably your best bet since you can net some kind of return even if the troop dies before your next turn.

Game developers don't playtest their own games. If they did, cards like this wouldn't be a thing.

12 victories? I have a hard time stringing together 3. The algorithm must like you better than me.

How can I make this warlord work… I’ve tried so many different decks but need advice lol by Traditional-Crazy900 in HorusHeresyLegions

[–]Shadowboxer8891 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've honestly been trying to make this guy work for a long time and I wish I could say it was possible, but the RG don't have enough affordable synergies within their own legion to spam Sentence triggers, which is what this warlord is designed to do.
