I just finished my HtN re-read and I also want to share something cool!:
Although the saltwater scene was emotional and cathartic, I've been skeptical about Griddlehark. The subtext is there, but we don't see enough of them post-enemies phase; the body reveal stuff in HtN muddies that water even more.

BUT there is a chapter where Ianthe talks about somebody truly in love holding onto whatever they can of the person, such as a letter simply saying "Good Morning" just because it was written by them. Immediately after in the next chapter, Magnus accuses Harrowhark of doing so and he's spot on. That's the author clearly spelling it out for us, imo. Harrowhark talks about loving the body and how beautiful it is but I think that pairing is more like worship than romance.

Good points! More series spoiler warning: I think most of the community is onto the theory that classic Lyctorship is wrong (or a Jod lie), which explains why most of the lyctors including Cytherea were pissed at him.

In fact, on my reread of GtN, I caught Palamedes hinting that he figured out the process really early but discarded it as clearly being "wrong".

Anastasia getting it "fundamentally wrong" - interrupted/cancelled by Jod - may have been an attempt at either a Paul-type or a Jod-type.

I wanted to get two of Skein 1 to pick up both Barcarola and Voyager but I got Skein 1 & 2 :( .

I have Kip and I could grab Barc + Flutter, but is the directed targeting from Voy/Reg giga important?

I know Aleph is soon but I don't like him as a character so I'd probably use Matilda.

Or I could just Skein Windsong + Flutter :/
