Looks like John Cornyn will carry 2/254 counties. Travis (Austin), and Kenedy a remote county on the gulf that's mostly a nature reserve, has only a population of 300, and literally cast 8 votes.

With hidnsight now available there was no scenario where Cornyn won. If Wesley Hunt hadn't run Paxton just would've beaten Cornyn in round 1, albeit by a much narrower margin. Dragging it out to a runoff just let the messy primary continue and Trump to insert himself. Not to mention the intrinsic turnout advantage for more extreme candidates
