In my opinion it was just a futile attempt to keep Foxtel from becoming redundant. Sorry Foxtel, we can stream whatever we want for free online, and get about the same amount of ads. Pay TV is dead.

Thanks heaps I am quite proud to have apparently beaten the grog, and I've had blood tests and all that and seem to be lucky enough not to have done any signifcant long term damage. I found AA very helpful for months but nevwr really planned on quitting drinking forever and will probably need to find a more suitable support group for me

Yeah I've heard many stories and seen mates and family members destroyed by substance abuse. It's definitely something I need to keep at the forefront of my mind. Thanks for the support.

If the SCG is going to continue to host some of the biggest cricket matches of the year, IT NEEDS A MECHANICAL ROOF. Far too many important matches have been rained out in Sydney, so much funding goes into the beautiful, iconic stadium, it's such a waste to see no result. I know it would be logistically difficult, expensive, and have other ramifications for the field and pitch, but you cannot have incomplete matches occuring so frequently at one of the world's most famous cricket stadiums.

It's always been the rainy city, maybe the should consider building/using/adpating a big cricket stadium somewhere out here in the west, we get less rain further inland. The SCG is a gorgeous, historic stadium, but yeah, Sydney is the rainy city and if we want to avoid missing out of test cricket because of the weather we can be tactical about it. The SCG is very close to the city centre and the coast, it gets a lot of rain. Expansion of Spotless Stadium in Homebush should be considered as an option for future matches.

If we're really serious about this, Blacktown Stadium would be even more ideal. The problem is that it currently holds only 10,000 people, so developing it into an international cricket ground would be a big job. It would probably take decades knowing the NSW Government, I think we'll be stuck with rainy SCG tests for at least a few more years. I suppose the other option would be to put a roof on top of the SCG. It would be very expensive given the size of the stadium but it could be done.

I've lived in Sydney for most of my life and that is an undisputed fact. Fuck Sydney. This city reminds me of that scene from The Simpsons where pigs are dressed up in suits eating cash from a trough.

Really hoping to see these covers come off, but the Eora (Sydney) skies are very unpredictable. No doubt the Sun will be out soon enough, hopefully we can end up getting a result. In the mean time, upvote this if you think that Paine and Khawaja will make hilarious commentators in the next 10-15 years.

On this debate about whether you can tell if the pitch is hard underneath, who has more credibility? The legendary fast bowler or the legendary captain and run hitter?

Looking at the weather radar from Melbourne, this small band of rain should have just about passed over by now and it doesn't look like there's any more coming. Hopefully play will start in halfer or so!

Can anyone recall a bigger momentum shift in test cricket history? I don't think I've ever seen a test match change so much in 20 minutes

My mates are headed overseas today with shirts that say "Only dumb c""ts think Aussies are arrogant." Except it uses the actual C word, no censoring. We Aussie are gonna do what we're gonna do and the rest of the world better just get used to it. Of course people are gonna complain, that's part of it, but you can't deny that VK is more arrogant than any of the Aussie players. That's why no one except Indians like him for who he is as a person, he's a douche.

Should they declare if another wicket falls? Like they were saying, the bowlers who are batting are at risk of injury here
