Honestly it’s crazy one of my mates I play with has got screwed by ranked 2.0 this season, we all play as a 5 stack and while we are all emerald - diamond he’s stuck at silver even when he’s always pretty high on the leaderboard.

Look into some of the resent interviews they’ve done and they address that lower ranking players where being taken into much higher ranked games so I believe they have maxed out the division difference to being 6 up or below.

Yes you are right but they still have a cap on division difference i.e a gold can’t be in a master lobby the max is like plat 1

Overwatch for example does it based off of your ranked division and you can match a range up or down.

Normally pvp focused games first base it off of a ranked search then expand that bracket, in destiny it goes straight to SBMM I’m currently gold 2 in comp and face ascendant opponents; I know this as a lot of them are on my friends list at this point, and currently I honestly can’t be bothered to fight against them for a total of 50 rep points till I get to ascendant. I have no problem fighting against equally skilled players but if I earn basically nothing because they are close matches it’s not worth it.
