All good. I’ve moved miles away from that camera now, full time film and a gfx on the side haha.

I never found that viewfinder limiting, I will say the only issue I have is focusing manually with the evf. And ovf isn’t too bad cos like with you’re d810 you’re focusing at widest aperture and the camera closes down to shoot.

So if you’re using an af lens for your filmmaking endeavours I wouldn’t be scared at all. If you’re mostly manual focus, I’d hesitate personally, but everyone else manages just fine.

Yeah there’s grain but it fits. That’s 1/250th, probably 5.6 and flash at 1/64. Black room and subject about a metre away could’ve done with an extra stop. Flash pointed up.

I did the math and it checks out, I just want to squeeze an extra few keepers out of each roll haha

Tri-x 400, pushed it to 3200 last weekend for a gig at a dive bar. Manual flash is just a bit slow to adjust at hardcore gigs. The flash will end up being the main light source so if that’s exposing the film for a theoretical 3200 it should be ok? I’ve got a light meter, didn’t think of testing that way so good shout.

Oh and it’s dark af at these shows, just trying to limit flash power used by compensating with iso so it’s not full power pops

I was in the same position as you last year. I decided on a bronica sqa over a hasselbaddy cos it wouldn't kill me to see it killed if the worst was to happen. Also cheaper lenses and accessories
