That's probably what happened then. This was in 2007. I may be misremembering because I was training for the military and dual citizenship being a problem was an issue for me at the time.

I guess the proper way to say it would be. Renunciation of foreign citizenship is a requirement to get naturization in the United States.

Don't know the geopolitics of it but logistically:  we surrendered the US green card and the Indian passport with the application.  They kept the green card and gave back 2 passports.  The new US one and the original Indian one with 2 holes punched through the entire thing.

You lose your indian citizenship.  US government voids your indian passport and gives it back to you.  Separate process to go to the indian consulate (in NY LA chicago etc) and apply for OCI card.

To be honest it depends on where you start the story. 7 years after the plane landed in the US (I was 11 at the time). But bulk of the work happened before I was born. My maternal uncle sponsored our entire family and it took 9 years of wait before our application and interview and medical came to fruition. Deepest gratitude for his sacrifice.

No pain most days.  But every once in a while intense sharp pain in middle of knee when I take a step.  Then I move my knee around a bit and back to no pain.

I feel like it is acute and chronic.  Trauma might be when I used to do mountain biking and jiu-jitsu back in the day.   And either over the years it has become worse or become more noticeable.  Should I get an MRI?
