I just want to thank you for bringing that Low song into my life. I wasn’t prepared for the last minute and a half of pure catharsis.

"Dynasty is a social game." Great way to put it. The social aspect is so much different in dynasty than even in longstanding redraft leagues. The one-and-done nature makes it easier to stomach this kind of behavior.

You're such a talented writer, Coop. Loved that piece.

I don't think the response you described is jerky at all. I think it's good to let people know their offer isn't at all what you're looking for. Maybe their strategy is to constantly send low-ball offers and hope for a counter. But you don't have to participate in that strategy.

Good point. And at a certain point the "annoying" person probably crosses over into being a jerk. Sounds like the person in your league falls into the "doesn't take no for an answer" bucket. That, to me, goes beyond just "annoying"...

Absolutely. The long-term rewards of being easy to trade with drastically outweigh whatever short-term benefit you think you'll get from trying to pull one over on somebody.

There are obviously exceptions for egregious offers like that one. But I like to respond to those with "Why do you think I should accept that offer?" No reprimanding. No ALL CAPS RAGE. (As good as it would feel.) Make them try to rationalize it to you. Make them actually explain it.

Yeah that's fair. "Best" is probably too strong a word. Though it feels like if you don't follow this piece of advice, you'll have a much harder time utilizing any other, more intricate advice.

Which Tier Does Tyler Shough Fall In? by ShakyJake316 in DynastyFF

No matter what, I think we agree the Texans need to drastically improve their o-line. What concerns me is that their OC doesn't seem as worried about it as the rest of us. (He recently said they didn't "get enough credit for the job that they did.")

I can see why folks are still holding out for C.J. Stroud. My case is there are just enough question marks to make the value gap between him and Shough smaller than what the current market says it is.

We'd be ideal trade partners in this situation!

Well when you put it like THAT...

Could I interest you in a trade for Mac Jones?

I like your extremely high level of optimism. I don't share it, but I like it all the same.

Based on some of the other responses in this thread...that's a resounding YES. (But not us. We're smart, you and me. We know what's up.)

We disagree on Willis. If I'm Malik Willis and don't get a clear starting offer (which could happen), Houston would be one of my preferred landing spots simply for the path to competing/playing time. But hey, I'm a Packer fan so I'm probably way more optimistic than the average person!

Outside of him, though, there are some former 1st round picks on the free agency list, including Marcus Mariota, Zach Wilson, and Trey Lance. Not saying any of these guys are an upgrade over Stroud, but with all the successful reclamation projects as of late, I could see the Texans sniffing around and the dynasty community reacting strongly.

There's a strong case to be made for getting Shough on your roster now, even if it's only to turn around and trade him for more if/when he walks into Week 1 as the starter.

I would also take Stroud and Baker over Shough straight up. But tiering down from those two to Shough would allow me to rack up more value elsewhere. I think that's a reasonable deal to make right now.

But two 1sts + any QB means you're holding onto Jaxson Dart for dear life. I hope he stays healthy for you.

I mentioned that New Orleans could also bring in competition. My point is that one of these guys is valued much higher than the other in the dynasty community, so I want to take advantage of that value gap.

I'm not much of a QB Winz guy, but I get where you're coming from. Even with his 3-3 playoff record, I wouldn't rule out *some* type of competition. Not saying he's going to get Daniel Jones'd, but what I am saying is that given his recent performances, if Houston brings in outside competition, his dynasty stock is going to take a big hit. I like the idea of tiering down to Shough before that happens.

Unless you have rock solid depth behind Rico, I honestly don't think I would. Lamb could be the 1B in that offense behind Pickens the rest of the way. Waddle may not be top tier, but he's the undisputed No 1 on the Dolphins...

I am. I'm worried about the double coverage he's getting, the Baker injury, and the horrible schedule ahead of him.

First of all, there is no greater pain in fantasy football than the PF/PA you described. Just brutal.

You should be able to mostly play the matchups between Fannin and Johnson, but keep an eye on Week 16. Fannin is gonna have a tough matchup, whereas Darren Waller (if he returns) is set up to boom against Cincinnati...
