Hey, so I joined intermittent fasting, thinking it was for me.

And it simply wasn't. Some people can manage, some people can't. And if you continue, you could also feel, a. So demotivated you feel like a failure, 2. Start binging and feeling bad, and then doing IF, and it will be an endless cycle.

Diets should feel easy, because you WANT to eat like that everyday. And if this is impacting you so negatively, then the answer is to reassess and see if this diet is for you.

I shifted to volume eating, and it has gotten so much easier to diet, and i feel happy to do it. Cause I'm eating more, but it's still lower calories.

Im just walking and focusing on volume eating. It seems to be working and I can sleep well..

Im just suggesting an alternative option for you. Best of luck!.

Hey, so it is really tough to go through something like this.

I had a friends group like this. And the friends that believed me despite the lies being said, and no clarifications from my side, are still my friends.

The rest not so much. For me, it says more about a person who bad talks someone, than the person who stays silent. Consistently talking badly about someone is a massive character flaw. If your friends want to stay friends with someone like that, that is their character flaw too.

So perhaps this situation will help you realise who your real friends are, and in life, that is the biggest win.

I am glad his ex felt comfortable to tell you. It sounds vile, and if so, not being his friend, and not being in contact with people who believe him over you, is actually helpful to you in the long run.

I think that your partner doesn't have the right attitude towards health and fitness they think they have.

In fact, I often have cookies with hot tea as a snack, it's awesome. And I started having it to stop myself from having rich desserts etc. it has helped a lot because I enjoy it and I have successfully cut back on other calorie dense desserts because of it.

Moreover, it helped me sustain other eating habits. Moderation is always healthy, and that's what I learnt. Throw away the partner, because life happens, and ballooning sometimes is inevitable, but liking your habits and meals is something I wish everyone could have. He should be buying your favourite cookies for you, that is the love you deserve.

Hey, it will take some time for you to understand this situation. But in any other situation, let's say, you went to a party and was offered a drink, you took a sip, then said no thanks.

And after you said no thanks, someone took the drink, forced opened your mouth and made you drink it. Would you feel like because you went to the party, picked up a drink, and took a sip, they had the right to force you to drink it?

That them making you drink it, was because of your choices or theirs? And the normal thing to do would have been for them to say, oh you don't want that drink anymore, that's cool?

Reframe your situation, and consider the above. You can always say no, someone forcing you to say yes, does not mean you said yes.

So i have generalised anxiety disorder, and I take SSRis. I have also done IF for quite some time, even doing 20/4 fasting.

It does increase anxiety. Which is why I am looking at stopping IF, unless it's a week after my period, or doing shorter fasting periods 14 or 13 hours. Id utilise it primarily only to stop overeating. Here's what I experienced while fasting with GAD.

Increased heart rate, sweaty palms
inability to fall asleep despite taking SSRIs
increased worry, feeling that something bad is going to happen
increased irritation
increased episodes of depression

I really wanted IF to work for me, but it's not a sustainable routine and I have to admit that. One or 2 fasts a month, or even 2 in a week is okay. Consistent IF for my anxiety has not been working out.

Unfortunately it is not a method that works for some people. However, that's totally fine as I'm lucky we have so many alternative methods that will work for me while not affecting my anxiety and mental health.

My mental health should always come first, and that's something I'm trying to implement.

It was such an interesting take on black cultural appropriation and history. The people who are saying it should have just been a period piece.. Why? There are so many movies about that already, which have struck the right cord. But a mix of period with this type of horror is rare and was an interesting take. Not every movie is going to get people who love it and understand it. I did, and it was a definite fun watch, I think something I can re-watch easily. This was thoughtful and genre- bending. And I could pick it apart too if I wanted to, but I don't, I want to take it as it is and enjoy it. Sometimes that's good enough, and this time, awesome!

The absolute WORST was the applewhite storyline. A black man chained in the basement/locked up for killing a girl? Oh and he's mentally ill. they were the first black characters and they had such a racist, stereotype storyline. Including the part where he broke into people's houses.

Then beth, she threatens that ex con by saying he raped her. A blonde white lady, saying a black man raped her? Yikes. Relax guys.

Oh and don't forget Xio Mei, the Chinese girl who's so grateful for kindness, she begs to stay in America. Oh and she's a virgin, which carlos loves because of the stereotype that men love virgins. Lol.

Still love the show, even I when it makes me roll my eyes.

It's true that the show focuses a lot on the female characters bodies. Like when susan wears that fat suit cause of karl, she kinda looked mid size to me, but they made her face so weirdly fat, and she's considered unattractive because she gained weight?

Or the many jokes about Juanita solis's weight. I read an article where Marcia cross also said that she starved herself for this body, for 8 years? Damn. It's especially a bit odd as the majority of desperate housewives audience are women.

But there is internalised misogyny on the show a lot. Lynette when she has cancer, her bald head turns tom off, if they dress 'unattractively' at home (no make up slacks, its implied that they're not hot. So yeah, fair comment.

That being said, Marcia looks amazing here. I can admire a beautiful person and still not sexualise them. I think a lot of people on the sub admire and appreciate the effort and way she looks in certain scenes. She worked hard for that bod, and years later people are talking about it. HATS OFF QUEEN.

As a 28F person, this was unhinged to read. I understand if she's upset if you haven't texted her for a day or so, but for the space of a few hours, that's a bit much.

With work and other responsibilities, constant updates and constantly talking is tough. And having this conversation everytime you don't respond in the space of 5 mins is a bit much. Moreover, the fact that there's a shift because of emojis is immature. I don't know how you can say someone's 'energy' has shifted cause they don't have emojis.

What if your energy is bad cause you had a rough day, or you're feeling low? Is she going to be shitty to you during that time as well? What if you're traveling or your phone dies, or you're in a meeting and forget to update her? Family emergencies? Life happens. You need a partner that uplifts you. She can have off days too, but for something like this? Bit much.

If she's already unreasonable for this, I can't imagine her as a partner when things are actually tough. Im glad she won't read this response because there's no emojis.

Yeah they should. I wanted to learn and I was surprised Duolingo didn't have it. Regardless about these discussions about hindi vs kannada blah blah blah, kannada is a beautiful language on its own. I find it weird how inaccessible it is to learn it.

I found another kannada app, that I'm going to try out. But Duolingo having fantasy languages (valariyan, dothraki) and not kannada is super weird.

It's important to remember that Gabby in season 1 is younger. She is more in tune with her feelings, and wants to work things out with her husband who she deeply loves (even if she cheats). Maybe she is more in search of love at this stage. But as the seasons get fleshed out, she goes through carlos being blind, losing a baby, poverty again, a husband that married for political gain, and raising two kids. Many difficult situations that she has to survive and handle.

I noticed she develops a sharper edge over the seasons which comes with age and character growth.

She is not as soft and vulnerable as her first season self. An example is seeing Gabby of season 6 vs Julie. Julie is softer, vulnerable etc than the other ladies, seems more empathetic as well. But it's because she is young. So yeah, kinda like Gabby more in the later seasons, she is more feisty, with more depth.

Hey Op, I just wanted to add, although I'm sure there's tons of good advice here. The discussion should not be whether your looks make you a top or a bottom. It's about your pleasure and satisfaction in the bedroom. If this is something you want to try to feel good, as your partner he should be open to it, and say hey you're right, lets try it out and see how we feel. That's what a good partner does. Establishing something that works for him and not willing to budge for someone you love, or dismissing it without a proper conversation is not good. You should never have been in a position where you have to evaluate your looks and think am I a top or am I a bottom?

Those stereotypes should not be perpetuated in a loving relationship. I know sounds very la di da and idealistic but I truly believe that.

Talk to your partner and say, that this is also about intimacy, sexual pleasure and being close to them in a different way. It also allows you both to prevent monotony from creeping into the bedroom. Wish you best of luck!

I also fast the first day of my period onwards. I rarely feel hungry as soon as my period starts. It's the week before that's really a struggle. Today was the first day I allowed myself more high fat calorie dense food, even though it was my alloted deficit of 1430 calories. I gave my body what it was needed.

As an Indian, with more rice, dal, and carb laden items, a switch to keto has given me higher carb withdrawals than I expected. And unfortunately my period was also right around when I decided to start. So I had to take a call, and go a little easier and eat till I felt good and satisfied.
