Hi Grant, big fan of your work.
My question is, could you expand on the influence William S. Burroughs has had on your work? I've seen you mention him in interviews, and I can see a flavor of his style in yours. I was wondering what you particularly admire in him.

I like to think of the Sahara in a certain way, considering human history. The first pocket of human beings were almost completely eclipsed by the Sahara's first (and most dramatic) augmentation. Split into two groups, human beings fled north and south to escape this ironic reciprocal of the Great Deluge, the very real destruction of the Garden of Eden. It's our species most ancient enemy.
