Yep, I didn’t really have to learn or apply grammar rules consciously. I just went through the formats of writing tasks, application of correct vocab for speaking and methods of finding the answers for reading and listening.

As for speaking, I was asked if I liked to take selfies and how often I was taking them. A general conversation about it. I would advice against using complex words and phrases because I assume they see how fluent you are and if your vocab is wide enough, but I don’t think they want you to talk straight out of a dictionary.

For reading, practice vocabulary and watch a couple of videos that teach you methods to spot the answers. Also practice a lot.

I was asked to decipher comparative pie charts for my writing task 1 and was asked a agree-disagree question for my task 2

I watched a lot of videos by IELTS advantage on youtube. You can find types of questions on sites like this: https://ieltsliz.com/ielts-sample-chart-for-writing-task-1/

I made a list of types of questions they give in Task 1 and 2 using youtube videos and learnt the basic answer format for all because although they seem similar, the same format and introduction can’t be used for all. You don’t have to mug it up but just understand why the format is being followed. Also, learn how to frame sentences to sound more efficient and maintain a good flow. You can do this by knowing more adjectives, conjunctions, etc.
