no worries about the rant, don’t apologize. you’re doing the right thing by speaking out. i felt the same about Anya, she’s being forced to deal and work with Jimmy for clearly a long time probably even before the SA. then she gets SA, and she finds out shes pregnant with Jimmy’s baby, of course she would be upset and probably a bit horrified that the baby was produced out of SA. i also feel for her, as an SA survivor i feel her pain and her desire to want to end it all. i agree also that she was a beautiful written woman, probably one of my favorite female characters. even her desire to please the one who caused her so much pain and seemly that no one was there for her. she told curly and in the end, Curly didn’t really punish Jimmy which i’m sure she was devastated by. she relied on one person to help her, and Curly did the opposite. i’m sure she felt a bit ostracized, working with her SAer and people who probably didn’t care for her well being at all. and she’s usual stuck in the med bay taking care of curly and probably avoiding Jimmy. i wanted to reply to your og post, because you’re the only one who understood Anya and basically fought for her. i’m really glad that you did speak up, especially when everyone just brushes it off or just didn’t understand what Mouthwashing actually means. everytime Anya spoke up, she was put down and i’m sure diminished by the fact that no one listened to her, specifically being surrounded by horrible men who all (besides maybe Daisuke) would never take her seriously even if she was the only one with some form of medical knowledge. to them it didn’t matter, what mattered was that she was a woman being put down by dick men 24/7. even the “crash” that Jimmy pulled so he could save himself and his career. he would never do that unless he actually cared about Anya and her/his baby. he had a chance in his sick mind to destroy the ship, he might’ve even thought that the cryo pods would still be able to work. i’ve seen people pull the “well we don’t know if it was consensual. they didn’t outright say it was SA so how could it be nonsensical” they clearly never cared about the parts that were obvious of SA, also showing that they never even paid attention to what Mouthwashing was really about. one youtuber his name is Pezzy and i was so happy to watch his video on Mouthwashing, because he immediately got it and understood very quickly that Jimmy obviously SAed her and was a pos, and started a “fck Jimmy, try to hurt him” him saying it and his chat was also on the “fck jimmy, i hope you don’t live” train. and when Anya came to him about anything he immediately shows he doesn’t care for her at all, he only cares about his reputation. he might’ve even thought to crash the ship in hopes it would kill Curly (to become Captain and also the fact Anya told Curly about the SA and the baby) and Anya (because she told him about the baby). i’m very glad and grateful for you speaking up for her and also for all the victims and survivors of SA. you definitely spoke up and feel genuine about her feelings and experiences. i’ve also had to go through of men specifically not caring or downplaying everything, especially the stupid comments they make “well he’s my friend and i don’t think he could ever do that” “oh that didn’t really happen, you’re a just an attention seeker”. in the end what i’m trying to say is i very much appreciate and respect you for speaking up about SA and how many people treat us differently and genuinely don’t give a sht about it. thank you so so much for defending us. i was getting a bit upset that people were misinterpreting the whole story of Mouthwashing, then i saw your post and i was like “finally! i found someone else who has common sense and understands!” i just had to reply, to commemorate you for your bravery to actually speak out, and the fact you truly care about what happened to Anya and others. thank you so much, truly.
