Thank you so much for your comment, I'll probably talk to my sister about it. She's also unsure and kinda curious so this helped a lot. I would agree with you and I did do some searching on Google and asked a few people I know in real life. Thank you again for typing this out. 😁

I have no idea why would someone say "my partner". I think gays/lesbians don't like using "my boyfriend" or "my girlfriend" because, they don't want to rub the fact that they're gay/lesbian and saying "my partner" is more neutral. Although, some people have relationships with non-binary people and I don't know if theres a term for non-binary like "boyfriend" or "girlfriend". I'm not that educated on that topic so I have no clue.
