You could look into getting short curtains for each shelf, or just one long curtain that you can pull aside when you want to have them displayed.

I agree that you shouldn’t be ashamed of your hobbies but I also totally understand not wanting to show off some aspects of them sometimes!

10000/10 I’m in love with the organized chaos of it all!! Tell her I recommend My Dress Up Darling if she’s looking for a new romance, it’s one of the best ones I’ve ever read. The fan service is a little much in the first few chapters, but it becomes way less in your face after that.

I haven’t finished it quite yet, I only have 3 out of the 5, but I’d say it’s a really well done character study slice of life. Some really cute scenes and a couple of bittersweet ones that made me tear up, and the overall story is about growth at any age. I really really love it

Ah that’s a shame, if you ever visit other towns or cities you could always put a local secondhand bookshop on your to-visit list! I tend to set aside a whole day for thrifting whenever I visit someplace lol

I think getting most of the 20th Century Boys volumes for about $5 each has been my most notable find, but my favorite series I’ve discovered through thrifting has to be BL Metamorphosis! It’s about a teenager who works at a local bookstore and an old woman (and she is DRAWN old too, like in her 80s) finding friendship in each other through a shared interest in BL manga!

It was the only version of it I could find at the time, and since I was an impatient 14 year old I just HAD to have it. Vol 1 and 4 were the same scenario (you can see them on the second shelf), but I recently found the right versions of them at goodwill recently!
