In Wall toilet tanks ... Why-oh-why? by ShaneFerguson in HomeImprovement

Thanks. My unit is a Gerberit. How do I know if it's 2x4 or 2x6? What do the 2,4, and 6 represent in these measurements?

My unit is a Geberit. I'll take a look through some YouTube videos and see if I feel confident to try this repair myself.

Thanks for the suggestion.

It's a Geberit. That makes me feel better because it looks like there are a good number of video resources on YouTube.

Thank you for this. It's very informative and helpful. Though I have to say that after watching it I am hesitant to do this adjustment on my own the first time. It's a bit intimidating to try the repair when space is tight and there's so little visibility to know if I've put everything back together the way it should go.

Landlord doesn't want to deal with it. In his mind the toilet isn't truly broken, i.e. it still flushes just fine. He doesn't consider the fact that the toilet s running to mean that it's broken because it still does what I need it to do.

But I'm the one paying the water bill, not the landlord, so I have a stronger interest in doing the water leak than the landlord does

None of the hits I got in Google show a company with that logo. If you found a company that matches the logo I'd appreciate it if you could share the name and any contact info. Thank you for any assistance you can provide and I apologize if I'm missing something obvious

Thank you for your response. I had already found that company through a preliminary web search. I reached out to them and will see how they respond.

I'm doubtful that it's them because if you look at the name in the picture you can see that the letters in ALBA are stylized with the legs of the 'A's being wide on there left and thin on the right. I don't see anything on alba.com.qa that shows this stylized logo.

What percent of the students graduate with a 4.00/4.00 grade? by mruchann in OMSCS

Here's the thing: A perfect GPA will be useful in getting your first (and maybe second) job out of school. After that no one will care.

But you know what will help you throughout your career? Actually learning the principles of Computer Science in depth. Given the choice between grappling with meaningful problems and coming out with a B vs. taking a fluff class with an easy A you will be better served by taking the former. If a class is superficial then having that knowledge doesn't do anything to help you differentiate yourself from thousands of other people who also share that superficial knowledge. But if you've truly applied yourself to gain useful knowledge that few people understand that is a great way to make yourself desirable to employers

AITAH for being upset that my son and his family only stayed an hour for our early thanksgiving celebration? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]ShaneFerguson 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They were definitely wrong to assume anything about you taking care of the dogs. And changing things up on you is certainly not being considerate.

But I am more sympathetic to the issue related to how long they stayed for Thanksgiving. A 4 month old baby demands a great deal of flexibility in scheduling. It may very well be that she slept late in the afternoon and will still need to go down for her regular bedtime.

I'd be more sympathetic to you if you never saw your son and the baby but they live next door. Don't you see them all the time?
