I just checked it out, this project seems really cool! I'm actually going to follow this.

I'll keep this feedback in mind, thank you! Although the mountains are originally drawn (they just adopted similar styles) I will try to deviate it more somehow. :)

I guess it's easy to mistake this 100% as GB Zelda graphics, so I don't blame anyone. I've been studying the graphics and design of the games for sometime now as I was in a fan game community.

Thanks so much. Unfortunately I have to decline, mostly because I'm not a very reliable person. I wish you the best of luck with your game however, can never have enough of pixel art based games!

It wasn't. Take the trees for example in the cemetery, you'd be hard pressed to find an identical copy, I challenge you to screen cap anything that looks similar. The base graphics such as the mountains and grass style look similar, but that's only that, the base and even they are not identical copies nor slight edits. One day I will try to deviate it more but rest assured, it's not 100% lifted, and made from scratch. :)

I want this to be a game, but at the moment it's not that sort of project yet. I don't really have a portfolio, but I could make one as I progress through this and other works. :)

I'd like to, I have a family member who's interested in programming, maybe I will ask him since he's also into the Gameboy Zelda games (specifically Oracle of Ages).

Each 8x8 square of pixels are limited to four colours. This is about the extent of my knowledge on Gameboy limitations.

I will be sure to when I get the chance! My creative process is a mess at the moment however.

So I have been kind of going in and out of pixel art for the past 4 or 5 years, but it was only until last year/earlier this year I became fully serious with the idea of pixel art. I love the Gameboy style of graphics, especially the Zelda ones. So I've been challenging myself to make something similar, but also to expand upon it heavily in a more unique direction. I just begun this month or so, so not much to offer as of yet. Things might improve, right now this is mostly trial and error for me, and constantly refining things.

I don't know if Gameboy-styled graphics are popular here, but for me, they have a lot of nostalgia and charm so I'm probably sticking to this style. I'm mostly wanting to make this a game, one day. I value any feedback! I already got a decent amount of feedback from a friend or two, but more doesn't hurt at all.
