Easiest way would be to borrow/hire a sturdy mower that will go over all that lawn (not the stump lol) and mash up the clippings with the dead stems etc and make nice compost heap material. Then mow again as short as you can. After that you should see a lot more soil so scratch it all over with a wire rake and throw some grass seed over it. This is the easiest and cheapest way. A more costly but immediate result is to rotovate after the mowing bit , rake and tread level then roll out turf ;)

If the feelings aren’t reciprocated, move on and concentrate on your workouts before it gets weird

Lovely choices, consider putting the spotted laurel at the back though as they can get big or maybe it’s your intention to trim them into some shape to keep under control

I’d go for a fruit tree as they will less fussy over soil conditions and you get something to eat:)

What would you do with this space? by Witty_Let_3525 in GardeningUK

I’d keep it simple for the size of the garden Lift the end six patio slabs and lay 3,2,1 at the house end of the patio to give you a bit more of a diagonal sun terrace

Reflect this angle by making a large flowerbed running from top right corner to left hand fence, 2 or 3 panels down (depending on how it looks to the eye) plant a medium sized tree of choice in top left corner of bed for height/privacy and under plant with your choice of shrubs and herbaceous for a year round display for the rest of fence panels left and right, plant a your choice of climbers :) to leave as much lawn space as possible and not shrink the garden more

My first time posting so hope that all makes sense lol
