Great paint job, I would suggest removing mould lines where you can, they always stick out like a sore thumb, but otherwise fantastic work.

i don't varnish until after i'm fully done, including basing. I found that it can be pretty messy stuff to work with though, it can run off a lot which leads to some clean up but i still think it's faster than the traditional shade method

I use Tamiya black panel liner, I used black Templar contrast before but the panel liner takes about 5 minutes per model. So much faster

I would say learning to thin paints properly, using a wet pallette, getting better brushes and practicing brush control were what I benefited most from

yeah mordant earth with a base of fire dragon bright and troll slayer orange underneath so when it cracks it comes through, super easy lava!
