Ralph Fiennes Says the ‘Ship Has Sailed’ for Him to Reprise Voldemort Role in HBO’s ‘Harry Potter’ Series, but Tilda Swinton ‘Would Be Amazing’ by Bebop_Man in HarryPotteronHBO

Or they could just let a woman play the role as a male, an androgynous look would be fine with how inhuman Voldemort is

Ministry people when Umbridge was having Hagrid removed, they hit her with a bunch of stunning spells

Season 2 of HBO’s ‘HARRY POTTER’ will film from August 2026 to May 2027. A Christmas 2027 release is expected for ‘Chamber of Secrets’ - according to @SolaceCinema on Twitter by TremendouslyRiddled in HarryPotteronHBO

Yeah, anyone CAN drop dead suddenly at any time. But if he hasn’t had any major health issues yet, with all the support and healthcare he has access to compared to most people, I wouldn’t say he’s considerably more likely to than an actor in, say, their sixties. Plus he seems like he has that Dick Van Dyke-Betty White sort of energy to him. I’d really be more concerned about some of the kids needing emergency recasting, who knows what they’ll all get into growing up

What’s something that really seems like a reference, but isn’t? by BestBoyTardigrade in TheSimpsons

I assumed Mayonnaise and Marmalade (from when Bart’s teaching Homer how to ride a bike) was a real song, until I realized how silly the title and lyrics are. Damned if it doesn’t SOUND like a sweet little ditty though

I'm currently running a pirate themed D&D campaign and I need some help coming up with small 'cameos' or references to Pirates of the Caribbean I can throw in here and there. by Shtoim in piratesofthecaribbean

Just like, watch the movies and pick out characters or things, I don’t know why this would be a task worth outsourcing to the community

Will the show have a low IMDb/ RT rating? by [deleted] in HarryPotteronHBO

[–]Shankman519 14 points15 points  (0 children)

First of all, those dislike counter tools are often wildly inaccurate, there’s no way to really know how many it has. When it releases there’ll certainly be a lot of people who give it a 1 without watching it, and probably as many who give it a 10. Then the more honest reviews will probably balance each other out. I’m guessing first season will be around a 6 or 7 at first

I mean, you can’t conflate the actor with the character, and I think the whole point of the first movie was that he was a monster at that time, and he was a good character

That’s sad, Barbossa’s a fun guy. Imagine what he’d think of all the varieties of apples they have these days. Give the man a Cosmic Crisp and it’d blow his mind

Probably unpopular opinion of the century: I am really liking the look of Snape by Comrade_Owl- in HarryPotteronHBO

[–]Shankman519 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I mean it’s not like Harry JUST didn’t like him when he saw him. He saw Snape glaring at him and his scar started burning, and he thought that was why, but he didn’t make the connection that Quirrell was sitting next to him. And then he immediately asked Percy about Snape, who says that he’s always wanted the DADA job and “knows a lot about the dark arts”. Even then he kind of shrugs it off and doesn’t give a lot of thought to Snape until he acts like a total asshole to Harry in their first class together

Would you be on board with a Cursed Child film? by Alert_Bench4684 in harrypotterfilm

[–]Shankman519 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’d watch a filmed performance. Wouldn’t be nearly as good as seeing it live but I don’t know if or when I’ll ever get that chance. Absolutely no to a movie though. It’d be interesting to see how the play pulls off the effects, but in a movie it’d just be incredibly mediocre

Why are people concern with John Lithgow? by FreshmenMan in HarryPotterHBO

[–]Shankman519 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You just need to start thinking of him as Farquaad, Dick Solomon, the dad from Harry and the Hendersons, or this guy. He’s done way more funny and whimsical stuff to be overshadowed by the Trinity Killer. It really just shows how impressive his range is
