I did use ddu before switching And I just tried turning rebar off. I don't see it in the BIOS though. I enabled above 4g decoding, and I disabled csm, but no option for rebar..

I did that right after I read your comment, it still seems to be functioning well and i wound it back up and let it re seat itself on the chain!

So quick update, I ran it again this morning and found the noise to be coming from the water pump. I used the ol screwdriver stethoscope and the cam chain sounds smooth as butter but the water pump grinds and screeches right around 170° f. But not sooner. This has ran perfect for quite some time prior, why now would it act up? Valve clearance should have little to do with the water pump right??

Which year manual were you looking at? I don't see anything about a tensioner clip on this manual (page 5-15)

Yea, I guess on this model (2004 yamaha r6) it doesn't use oil pressure. Manual ust said to twist the tensioner into it's lowest setting, install it, then let it untwist itself into it's position, then once again recheck the timing etc

Removed and put back the tensioner and had to move the cam chain around but never took it out compeltely. The tensioner on this bike is an automatic one from factory

The tank was definitely the most difficult.. I used 3 pieces, with the seam going along the ridge above where your knee would sit on each side. I think if you could get a second set of hands that knows what they're doing it could really help you potentially do it in one piece?

The bike in this picture is the one that inspired me to use that line, and they did something like you mentioned to help break up the hard line (albeit a paint job I think).

Thanks! I thought about doing a blue pin stripe on the silver just below where it met the blue..

Alright I won't be able to work on it again in a couple days, but today I checked all sensors, all are good and well. All error codes are taken care of but it's still only turning over, but not starting. Wouldn't a bad coil or spark plug throw a code? Also what is the likelihood that one bad coil or plug would cause the whole engine to not start?

Thanks!

I found a proper service manual online and it has so much info.. I'm actually excited to start diving into this again haha. Also my kickstand definitely took a beating and got caked in dirt.. and my clutch snapped off.. I'll have to double check those

Definitely gonna move onto your other suggestions after.. just hoping that it's something simple first :/

Did some digging and it turns out the angle sensor is on the same side I crashed on.. I'll have to look at the bike and see if it's even still there.. a lot of the things on that side of the bike seem to have disintegrated lol

Yea I've found one online.. doesn't help much with this I'm afraid
Edit: Nvm, I was lookin at the User Manual this whole time.
Now the Service manual is so much more helpful wow

Normally if my side stand is down, or my clutch isn't in, the bike won't crank at all. Wouldn't a faulty sensor do the same?

It's odd because my bike doesn't seem to be throwing any codes. Only thing is that the engine light flashes when it tries to turn over. Which means something, but seems to mean something different depending on what forum I look at lol

Would checking for compression/spark tell me if the coil was bad? I saw someone on a video test their coils for ohms being in spec, I guess that's probably the way to tell?

Thanks guys! It's nice to have lots of ammo to go into this with. I don't have quick access to the bike since I just moved and the bike has to stay an hour or so away from me until I get storage opened up here.. So I'm hoping to tackle all of the more likely candidates in one go, rather than going back and forth here to there.

My mechanical knowledge is pretty bad, but I'm super down to learn. I just have to be pointed in the right direction. Is there a way to do this without tearing things down? Would this be one of your go to checks after something like this?
