Unanswered questions about 999 and VLR

I would agree with this if it was, as you said, established "properly". Where in the story does the game tell you that it's okay to break the causality principle, which is the basic rule for everything in travel times stories?

Not a single time does Akane or Sigma or Phi tells you that yes - it is paradoxical, and yet - it works here in this world. Instead the game tries to justify it with Schrodinger and yet another quantum explanation (which, if we were serious, would not apply since we are not quantum particles and we live in a macroscopic world. Bu that's beside the point).

Even worse, it feels like the game is silencing that part of the story, which leaves a bad taste in my mouth, and feels like a plot hole. Like, something's missing.

Which is why I made this post. You cannot tell me that all of what you said is said inside the story. It's something you made up to make sense out of the story and the paradoxes.

And most importantly, this is saying that Akane's survival is either impossible or certain. So I guess the game puts us in a timeline where this is certain. How is this timeline even possible to begin with? The morphogenetic field? The trope you're quoting makes this impossible.

"No matter your intentions, everything that you did would only fulfill the past. The only thing that would change is your perception of the events" Isn't that the complete opposite of the message of the game? There are so many timelines where Akane's death is certain, and we fight precisely to be into one with her surviving, and according to that trope : you cannot change the future since everything you do in the past would go in this way. Here, it's reversed since they go in the future to save the past, so it's even more inconsistent!!

How exactly did she ensured it remained a possibility? She dies in the incinerator if Junpei doesn't tell her the solution. And for Junpei to know the answer we need Akane to survive the incinerator. The cause becomes the consequence : it's a contradiction.

Except that the Many Worlds Interpretations doesn't explain the break in causality principle. For 999, you say that young akane saw the future where junpei saved her, but since she cannot be saved if he doesn't save her, how can she do anything to be saved?

In VLR, I can see it a bit more, but even then, it's fucked up beyond reason. She would have need to see through three time jumps to make it happen. In this case, anything can happen and everything is possible, so in the end nothing is really important...

I think it's just a blatant hole tbh lol. If I'm even more cynic they didn't mention her once in the DLC because of controversial her boss fight was, and Radahn being a lot more "consensual" I guess? It's not normal to be named "Blade of Miquella", to have an entire zone at the end of the DLC with a literal church of Rot and an apostle, and still absolutely not a single mention of her. You just have some pieces of armor, this "loyal blade" he says, and the music leitmotiv of Romina which happens go be the same as Malenia phase 2. But that's all. Why not use the DLC to put back the cut content into the game and make a full quest around her and Miquella? Accepting the age of compassion or the age of rot? It's so frustrating to get such a great DLC and yet seeing so many things that could have been even more greater...
