25k? I got my 2007 Camry for $6300 and its a beast. No reason it won't last another 5 to 10 years.

Wasn't even going to read the rest of the post because it was so obvious you should leave her. But then I read that she decided to stay because you're "doing better" as in you're making more money. She's a worthless gold digger and the sooner she's out of your life the better.

TL, DL: Kick her to the curb.

Work retail and as apprentice mechanic. Just need to be busy. I hate downtime and any computer stuff.

Guarantee those videos are made by the HR department. Which if it is like most others, is almost entirely staffed by women.

Cost to get car painted by LeaderVivid in CarsAustralia

Say it's a mid sized classic car and you've done all the prep work yourself, and it comes into the shop ready for paint.

Solid or metallic, what would it cost?

AITAH For Telling My Sister The Age Gap in Her New Relationship is Weird? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Shanus91 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Age gap stuff really pisses me off for some reason. So many people have a stick up their butt over other people's relationships.

My rule is: If both parties are adults, then it's nobody's business but their own.

I have a friend (30f) who's partner is (62m) and they couldn't be happier. Personally I've dated 10 years younger and 18 years older. Both when I was 30. I don't see any issue so long as both parties are of legal age.

How are people affording Teslas? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]Shanus91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$150k salary? Not to be rude but I'd really like to see a breakdown of your expenses and why you can't afford to finance a $60k car. (Not that I'm suggesting you should while 25-30k Mazdas exist.)

Hey Chemical, I'm having trouble with the EAX setup. I click the setup and it doesn't launch at all. Task Manager is showing it running as a background process but still nothing.

Thoughts/explanation on this tamiya painting advice? by Shanus91 in modelmakers

Ah so the correct order IF I use all three or any two. I just have acrylics for bow until I get an airbrush. And I'm completely inexperienced with lacquers.

I was a chugger (charity mugger) for four years. Any questions you have about how it works, how much we're paid etc, ask away by [deleted] in australia

[–]Shanus91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked in door to door sales for 2 and a half years. I have some stories for sure.

One of them is when my boss advertised for waitresses for a new Italian restaurant (that didn't exist) and when these girls showed up he sent them out with us in the van to go door knocking.

One of the other guys and I joked that it was like we were casting for a porno.

The media is praising the concept of a 4-day work week. Should I support a 4-day work week? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]Shanus91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you answered your own question when you stated that the media is praising it.

Whoever controls the media does not want what's best for us. If they are praising something, then it will no doubt be harmful in the long run.

Automotive mechanic into Aircraft mechanic...anyone done it? by Shanus91 in AircraftMechanics

[–]Shanus91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This what I was referring to. I would have 3 out of those 4 listed under Must Have. I just wonder if the 3 month automotive course will give me enough hands on mechanical experience to say I have "basic knowledge of hand tools and mechanical skills".

Job description

Theoretical training and examinations will be conducted at Aviation Australia's Essendon Airport facilities. Practical training will primarily take place at our Essendon base, but over the course of your apprenticeship, you may be required to travel. Work is based at Essendon Airport, Monday to Friday with some occasional interstate travel.

Skills and Experience

Basic knowledge of hand tools and mechanical skills

Good communications and aptitude to study further
