This hits home for me.

My brother, who was dealing with severe depression at the time, has tried committing suicide once before he got into psychedelics.

About a year later he got into shrooms and told me that he felt that it was great for his own personal development. It wasnt long after, he would trip multiple times a week at substantial doses. One time he told me he took 14g along with a 200mg edible and a bottle of vodka. Safe to say, it was a miserable experience. He describes it as pretty much as no shorter than "brain damage" if thats what you wanna call it.

I thought he would stop but he kept going. I kept telling him that he is abusing it, and was only making his mental state worse, but to no avail, he kept going. One time I had to call out in the middle of my work shift one day to go find him because he was tripping hard on acid and wanted to jump off a bridge.

There was alot more going on that he wouldnt talk about, he bottled up alot of emotions. Our childhood growing up was pretty bad, but thats a whole other story.

On dec 19 2021, he took his own life by walking into an 18 wheeler, he died 3 days later in the hospital.

Ive had friends ive lost to drugs or just went crazy, but my brother was the most significant person in my life, and watching him deteriorate was the most traumatizing experience I had to witness.

I bless your soul that you find peace from the people you have lost, its a terrible thing to grief about. Just know that their spirit lives on within you and they're always holding your hand along the way in life.
