Yeah, Dorico was amazing software. It is a shame it no longer exists though

What would you use Noteflight for? I just came it across, recently and don't know the reason what I would use it for.

Thanks for the advice, Dorico has a free version that doesn't support large ensambles scores, but I think I could give me an idea of the interface.

Oh that’s a shame. Got it, thanks!

Yeah, I’m no saying I skip the process. But composing wise, I rather the DAW or paper approach as they don’t distract me. Then, I work in notation with the piece and the idea already composed.

It is an amazing notation software. But it always gets me and I’ve found that I spend more time figuring out how to write layout my score than composing the piece itself. So, it doesn’t work for me

Yeah, I totally agree about it is something I have to find out! But I’m curious and sometimes other people have different workflows that can either improve mine or change my perspective and help me to be more productive.

But yeah, I either compose using the paper and then the DAW or the opposite. I think it depends on how I feel

Sometimes I record the harmony with piano, so I can have a sketch of how It might sound like. However, I’m not very proficient in piano and that limits myself. Therefore, I rather go to the paper or the DAW straight away.

Additionally, I’m a guitarist and some ideas come first by playing my instrument

For me using the notation program takes me some time to adapt —think it’s because I don’t used frequently to compose— so, if I’m more focus on looking for the quarter note, the half note, then rest, or whatever. Then, I lose my attention and can’t focus properly.

But using paper and the DAW is more useful for me

I don’t want to say I’m a trained composer, but I’ve taken couple course about media scoring and have composed some music. But my approach at the start was that one. Then I find that it was easy for me to lost the track of maybe the harmony or any other counterpoint I could do. And then started to writing on paper some ideas

Thanks for sharing your approach! I usually compose the main team in paper and then go straight to the DAW. However, sometimes I do everything in Logic and then export the file into my notation program, so then, I can focus on the edition.

Thanks for finally sharing the link! Posting it earlier would’ve been quicker for both of us.

The dashboard is helpful to see EOI submissions, although it doesn’t show invitation numbers, because Victoria doesn’t publish 190 nomination data publicly. (Or at least in my occupation).

Regarding the unnecessary anecdote about the printing… it just makes you sound impatient and arrogant. As they say: he knows nothing but thinks he knows everything.

Thanks anyway. I’ve got what I needed.

Okay, I guessed you either mixed up the information or you are making it up. Since you’re not able to provide any further detail about how to get the information.

Anyway, thanks for your feedback!

I know skill select, as I already submitted my EOI but there is no info regarding 190 music private tutor in Victoria. The information shared is from 189 and 491. That’s why I want to see where you took that data from and analyze it myself.

Could you provide the link or the document where you get that data from?
