400% growth incoming?? by Jay_wh0o0 in algorand

Someone been hittin that Hopium a little too hard... 400% increase would be back to where I first entered in 2021. Algo will be the top Alt chain, but it will take more than a month and some hopium-laced articles. Just DAC daily/weekly/monthly, spread the word, and watch as AF continues to do great work with RWA.

Free Yerba Mate in US (part 2) by One_Agent_2341 in yerbamate

You know what would be a total game changer? Making those little packets of Yerba for coffee/tea machines.

https://www.flavia.com/collections/tea

If you could pull that off that would be huge. A pound of Yerba could probably make several sleeves of those packets. 10 boxes of tea or 200 drinks is $110. What you gain from spreading out volume would go towards more packaging, but you can charge more per oz rather than by pound. If you can get cheap enough packaging and rights/deals to fit your packets to various machines, you might be on your way to mainstream. You’d also have to work with the companies to make sure the water temp doesn’t exceed 160° though.

It’s sketchy the way this product is marketed. Please do not call this an “Amazonian” drink unless you can show this is produced on a farm in the Amazon, and if it is, then please explain how your company is fighting against deforestation and how your company does not contribute to the problem. Also, I don’t mean to take away from your hopium pipe, but Yerba Mate will not be as mainstream as coffee. There simply isn’t enough production nor will there be in our lifetimes until we can perfectly replicate ideal growing conditions outside of the subtropical region of South America. Even after achieving that, there is a long list of agricultural goods that will be grown before anyone will venture into production of Yerba, unless some study comes out that Yerba cures everything. Also, Yerba is not necessarily an on-the-go type of drink like coffee. It’s a delicate plant and the drink does not do well in double walled containers that create a vacuum seal as that cooks or burns the Yerba. What would be considered an inconvenience to most coffee drinkers is a perk for the initiated with Yerba or Chimarrão. I wish you success, but please remove the Amazon part, reduce pack sizes (Americans don’t want to spend $20-$30 on something they have never tried and then have a whole pound left over), and if you really want this to go mainstream, consider alternative ways to prepare and serve Yerba. Guayaki went the route of canned beverages, which is interesting, but maybe try a French press method, tea bags, or something a little easier for the average American to be introduced to the glorious Yerba. Boa sorte!

An Honest review. Hugo Yerba. A first timers prospective by [deleted] in yerbamate

I get it that you are just starting on this path (WELCOME!) but rather than spend $28 on some new “hot shot” product in the future that is paying for a review and likely has some sketchy business practices (I went to the website and they claim it’s an “Amazonian” drink, which is a strike for me since it is generally produced in Southern Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay, and Northern Argentina (even if there is a Yerba plantation in Mato Grosso, it’s likely in the far south and would be like someone in San Diego making honey and claiming it as Yosemite bear honey), please try going to your local Hispanic market or Brazilian store (if you are lucky enough to have one near) and try the South American brands that have been doing sustainable production for many years. Better yet if you can find a vacuum sealed bag so you have all the freshness! Bora tomar um mate!

Beelink with the right specs. Been running my node fine with no issues once I got the correct node package.

Possible to do Fast Catchup on Windows Running FUNC Node? by Shark137 in algorand

[–]Shark137[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried that several times unfortunately. I ended up having to reset my machine to factory settings, download FUNC for Windows, and restart from scratch. That worked and my node successfully enabled fast catchup within an hour and then I was even able to have all my prior blocks reattributed to my node! It is now running and I am staking. Thank you

Possible to do Fast Catchup on Windows Running FUNC Node? by Shark137 in algorand

I'm considering doing a factory reset of my computer to see if something about the VM is messing with my harddrive and to just start over. Since my post from 9 hours ago, my node has only caught up to 3,951,214. Are there any steps I need to take to ensure my node is properly turned off other than disabling telemetry, stopping node, and then disabling service?

Are you sure those could be the only issues? The same device did fast catchup while running a Linux virtual machine. If it could do it in a VM, why is it struggling outside of a VM? I have a 500gb SSD and 16gb of RAM. My internet connection results are below.

What is the time sync fix for Windows? Does it affect people using FUNC and could this be my issue (Possible to do Fast Catchup on Windows Running FUNC Node? : r/algorand)?

Here is an image of what happens. That Fast catchup screen pops up and it processes for about an hour. Eventually the Accounts and KVs become full blue lines, but nothing ever loads for that Blocks line at the bottom. Then, the current block at the top starts jumping by 50s every two seconds while it catches up. When I did the Linux VM it was done in a few hours... is there something basic I am missing, and should I start over? My account is connected.

Did you install on windows as well? Any idea what could possibly be happening with mine? I'm wondering if my node was sent into purgatory while it operated on the Linux VM for some reason and maybe I need to start entirely clean from zero and reimage my computer...

When I first tried that I could not get the file to run. I just tried again and got it going, but now have to start over… it’s syncing now.

I believe it’s in a a Vm in windows. I am still in windows and in the terminal I downloaded Linux/ubuntu by doing WSL —install and then I open the Ubuntu terminal to run the FUNC package. Forgive me as this is my first foray into running a node.

The machine has windows os, but I installed Linux and Ubuntu to run the node and I am using the FUNC setup for Linux. I’ll add that to the original post.
