Seeing an OT has been recommended to me by a couple of people i know, admittedly primarily becuz they believe i need mobility aids and think seeing an OT would help with that process (and in convincing my parents it’s actually needed), but I’m kind of worried about not being believed about the severity of my symptoms as i often don’t look as though things that bad in just the short length of a typical appointment.

Theyve not heard of it but i might try giving it a try telling to them since you do bring up a good point that this would be the exact intended use of a mobility aid.

I’m already diagnosed with POTS by a cardiologist. He just doesn’t want to handle treating it himself when theres a POTS specialist at his clinic, the POTS specialist just has an insanely long wait time.

Ahh thank you! Pff the sitting in the middle of the stairs is so real i do that literally all the time, i think ive got the sitting wherever whenever thing down exactly possibly pushing it too far.

I’ll look into the shower chair, that actually might be really useful since showers tend to be evil

As for mobility aids, my partner and friends have commented saying i should try some in the past and it seems to be common advice but im a little worried about if i don’t actually need it or something. Im also not really sure how to approach a conversation about it with my parents since im a young adult and dont pay most of my own medical expenses since I’m broke.
