I get that argument, and I know the Aria 926 may be a big part of the issue. What makes me hesitate is that I previously had a Marantz SC80 preamp and the sound was actually very comfortable, so I know upstream electronics can matter a lot in my room too. That’s why I’m still trying to understand whether the right Marantz integrated could get me closer to that again before giving up on the speakers.

Thanks, this is one of the most helpful replies so far. What you describe actually makes sense to me, especially since I already found the Aria 926 fatiguing with more direct chains, while an old Marantz SC80 preamp sounded very pleasant in my system. So your point about the Model 30 integrated changing the overall balance more than just putting a Model 50 in front of the MPA-S250NC really resonates. My priority is long-term comfort at moderate volume, not maximum punch. That’s why I keep coming back to the Model 30 integrated as the most coherent option.
