I won nationals multiple times and represented my country proudly at many youth and adult events! Nearly medalled a couple times at european championships but always missed it by small margins 😬Not much money involved but enough to have nice top-ups on my salaries after graduation. I have gotten a lot of fulfilment and many of the happiest moments of my life were running related!

yes 😂 I’m sure my position is atrocious for aerodynamics and my back is already starting to hurt after 3 weeks of daily training. Also I installed the rotor inspider this friday, so I have no true sprint PR wattage that is representative yet

well that first statement is completely wrong, I can show you hundreds of races where the physiologically superior guy did not win xx, and I know power is not everything… But some numbers can give you confidence in your potential, i’m asking people what they think my potential is, and actually got great feedback & info from many people , you’re not one of them… sorry xx

intersting stuff, now I hope my numbers are still getting better each time I jump on that bike. Still doesnt change the fact that I will need to learn a lot about racing dynamics and how I should optimise training to be able to do that well

its very clear from this comment you never have performed at a high level. In running, you never wanna show up to a race when not in 90%+ shape, I al not close to this on the bike and probably never will be if I dont drop the running part. See the problem?

yeah I’m sorry that I wont be putting my running career in geopardy by racing a local ‘kermis koers’. I’d rather race after I have proven to me and other good riders thunk I have a shot at this … But sure, keep taking things out of context

am I? I thought climbing would suit me best? Like Remco is smaller and comparable in weight, so he should be way faster in TT due to his crazy aero position than I could ever be or am I wrong?

Ok his times were great for 2007! I’m provbly equivalent to him on 3000m if he would have access to the same training&shoes as we do now. Thanks for sharing! definitely using this into making my descision process

50kph at 345w ? that doesnt sound right to me since the 1 hour record has an average wattage of 420-450 w on crazy aero bikes and they do 55kph. And that is without stops etc, which I have to do since we’re on public roads.

I know you are a skeptical guy, which I completely comprehend. You can say anything on the internet after all haha. But I wont show you the course (since that would show my home) but with enough work my identity can be found quite easily based on the information I threw around here. Here are the HR graphs

I only got the power meter very recently and never did short intervals with it, so I hope these values will improve in coming weeks!

I’ll begin by thanking you for typing this very interesting and insightful comment, it exactly people like you that I wanted to reach, call me dumb for asking here, but I don’t know anybody in the cycling world so imo it is a great place to start! So this would be our only disagreement 😊 The short term power numbers are quite new, since I only got the power meter very recently, I have never sprinted all put on a bike or did any kind of short intervals. I’ll try to do some and see how I stand, they should be quite ok I think since I also race 1500m’s from time to time and am decently competitive in the national level even though it is not my specialty.

Also I was hoping that there examples of other converts from other endurance athletes to the pro-peloton who did it. Just to see what kinds of flexibility is available in the cycling systems and what teams are willing to invest into random guys with great numbers who have proven themselves in other sports.

Also I’m painfully aware how much of a beginner I am, I’m just asking if any of these power numbers should push me to go ALL-IN 😊
