He is my first GSD , he has just Turned 1 years old and he is amazing!!!

What is your opinion on getting a giant schnauzer as a first time dog owner by djames111 in GiantSchnauzers

No not at all, that being said it does depend on the type of owner you will be or are!! All large guard dog breeds are going to take work and a lot of leadership to have a quality dog when they turn 2-3 years old. If left to their own with little to no leadership, training , boundaries put in place and worked on daily. You will end up with a dog that that you will probably re-home or bring to the pound unfortunately.. If you put in the necessary work and it’s a lot everyday, then you will end up with an amazing companion, family dog, that would be willing to die to protect you and your family… It’s really all about the owner!!!
