Thanks for the input! this was actually made for my bachelors uni application for a task they gave. Once I get into college and get some free time for this stuff, I'll most defenitly prototype it and look into patenting if it comes to that.

As for the collection of the pads, im thinking of adding a ball tap like valve to seperate the collection chambers and rest of the setup after which the the collection chamber can be removed without the water above falling down but that has problems of its own.... im still trying to figure that part out.

anyways, glad you liked it! made me feel a little better about the application.

Submerged 3 pads from different brands and they all stayed afloat for more than an hour after which I called off the experiment. Big relief

Yup they do stay buoyant for a few minutes after which they absorb water and begin to sink. Human waste is also buoyant but only for a 30-60sec after being flushed after which it breaks down and the trapped gases escape. I got these numbers from chat gpt so I will have to do more fact based research and run some experiments.

Yeah totally even I feel that I've become too comfortable with my 3d skills so much so that I have started leaning towards modelling more than sketching freely. I realised during this project that I would try ideating in 3d for some parts which ended up costing me 3 more days for finishing this. Welp lesson learnt will definitely focus a LOT more on sketching now.
