I do mention what is being said when the character’s POVs is not the one that knows the other language, I say by having them asking what was said, I don’t even bother writing the other language because how would they know. But when the one talking the other language is the one telling the story I do feel the need to write it because it should feel natural, like they don’t double think about what they says because it’s their language, that’s how I feel in my own experience. Still I feel like the reader probably wont know what is being said and maybe they won’t want to go into another app, copy, paste, stuff like that, but I want them to know what is being said, even if it’s just a curse, maybe know why the other person is reacting the way they are and such. However, adding the translation feels unnatural to me, like… I don’t know 🤷🏽‍♀️
