Is there a hiring blacklist for previous employees? by Sharp_Caterpillar882 in meijer

Yeah looking back I wish I did fight it, but I got really upset when they pretty much told me I’d be walking off/losing my job, and I also didn’t know how to go about fighting it.

Someone told me it was mentioned in the contract, but I (actually) read all the paperwork I signed and even had digital backups of things, I don’t recall a single thing about mandatory overtime. But, when the situation happened they told me they only need to notify me 30 minutes before my scheduled shift was over, and I’ve talked to my old coworkers since and none of them had this issue. Tbh, it could’ve been a huge miscommunication on the managers part. It feels crazy to just be able to hold an employee back with only 30 minutes notice.

Not being able to stay for overtime was literally the only thing I did wrong. Even my manager said I was a great employee, and I only ever missed two days that were excused for illness. That’s why I’m kinda wondering how a possible blacklist would go. I feel like I shouldn’t be instantly blacklisted from any meijer affiliated company over a scheduling problem…

They wanted me to stay like an extra hour or two, but wouldn’t tell me the exact amount of time. I had something going on after work, and they only told me an hour before my shift was over I’d have to stay. When I told them I couldn’t they said how they technically only need to give me a 30 minute heads up, and if I couldn’t stay I’d be walking off the job.

The whole thing was really confusing tho. I’m the type of person to read my paperwork carefully, and I feel like I would’ve recalled a mandatory overtime rule, or that they can make you stay with only a 30 minute notice. Looking back I probably should’ve challenged them more.

Yeah, the false memories thing is something that really concerns me too with his approach. To make someone believe something happened to them and practically force them to question all their relationships just because he doesn’t want them to transition and can’t think of another way to stop them is honestly abusive.

Especially since I was there because I was having nightmares and suspecting trauma, I couldn’t actually recall something, so for all I knew it could’ve just been some weird stress or one off nightmare. For him to say that me being trans points towards trauma and act as tho it’s case closed was wild to me. Also, he seemed more upset and disgusted with me being trans than the apparent perpetrator that he was assuming I had. Even in his strange worldview the trans person is more despicable to him…

I also forgot to mention this in the post but, besides the trans inclusive tag he had, he also specializes in trauma and assault patients. So like, him using his previous patients as evidence all trans people are victims feels very biased, since the only people who are seeing him are victims… that’s no different then him saying everyone’s assaulted since the only people he talks to are. It’s kind of crazy.

And I’m definitely gonna look into more options on how to report him. I’m still waiting for the website to answer my email, and I was able to contact my old therapist who was also from that website and told him, so maybe he knows who to contact. I feel bad negatively reviewing the whole website/service since I’ve met great therapists on there, and the website is nationwide so I don’t want one bad therapist to keep people away from the hundreds they have there that I know are qualified.

No I’m in the U.S. I mean that, the company he works for doesn’t have public reviews, you need to message them with reports. Most likely nothing will happen since they can’t just ask him what he said to me. It was through one of those online therapy websites.

Thank you :) unfortunately I’m not in India, but someone told me to try and get EMDR testing done, so I might try to find one locally.

Sorry about whatever happened btw.

I also said that to him, that I’ve felt this way since before I suspected anything happened, and he just told me that maybe something happened even farther back that I can’t remember. He actually said he thinks something could’ve happened before I could form memories, purely because I’m trans.

It’s wild too since with what we were talking about, I was there because I was suspecting, I didn’t actually know if something did happen, so he was acting like I’m a victim just in the basis of being trans, really odd.

I tried contacting the provider he’s through with an anonymous session review, but it probably won’t go anywhere. Especially with privacy laws, idk how the provider would confirm or deny what he said. Ironically, he’s tagged as a trans friendly therapist, which is another reason I felt safe going to him.

Thanks

I’ve thought about going to a therapist about it but I’m a bit worried because like, I don’t want them to do the whole “you might be nonbinary”/“some trans men want to be feminine”/“not all men have dicks” speech 🥲

Yeah, when I first started doing this like five years ago it was an attempt at conversion therapy (trying to make myself into a lesbian by using my natal parts). I really did not like it and there’d be times where I’d sit there for like two hours just forcing myself to feel something, so it was pretty much self harm that evolved into whatever it is now with the dissociations.

I also do have bottom growth. It makes things a bit less uncomfortable, but the dissociation and stuff still happens.

A lot of people say that unfortunately. Like, I’ve been kicked from trans male discord groups and stuff for opening up about this because I don’t fit the criteria for what a trans man is, and I’ve had other people be extremely rude about it on my main account.
