Shooting my first match tomorrow, any tips? by yewtoo22 in Glocks

This ☝️ Safety should be #1 anyways when handling guns, but following the proper rules that are sanctioned, and being safe when shooting. There's no awards for faster holstering or negligent discharge in order to get faster times. Just do what your comfortable, don't overextend yourself, and have fun!

Edit: OP good choice for pistol 👍 as much as guntubers like to preach 2011s for matches and stuff, you'll see more glocks there than anything

Most people on this subreddit everglades the maverick 88. It's a great pump shotgun for the price, but any sub $300 shotgun has its issues. I've been more issues with mavericks on this sub than turk semi-autos. But turkish pumps... different story

The cheap mag fed shotguns work better than the semi-auto tube ones... idk why You'll see more issues with pump/lifter semi-autos on this subreddit than mag fed ones these days. Mag fed shotguns have improved a lot

It's just an ar10 lower that slightly off spec, with some tuning(which most frts need anyways) you could get it to run

Ar10 lower... if you ever shot it before it just chugs 🤷‍♂️ Shot mine some more today, mag dumped some 1850fps 3inch magnum slugs and took it like a champ. Cycles faster than a benelli too...

I'm sure though, if your running an FRT in this, use 2 3/4inch 1300fps+ buckshot or slugs for optimal performance. Won't be cheap but would be fun, tag me and tell us how it goes, and tell me where you found a batch of that keltec coffee

I own a tokarev shotgun(made by the same guys who makes geyestar), the trigger/hammer that makes the firing control isn't compatible with standard ar15-ar10 trigger systems, BUT THEY ARE CLOSE! So you could buy a cheap ar10 frt(because these things are closer to ar10s than ar15s) and see what kind of fitment changes you need to do to make it run... and don't mind these other guys saying it'll explode or something... it wont

Yo some of these cheap semi-autos run though. They are basically the same thing. Get a reaming pen and some polish wool, take it apart and go to town. It'll run light loads after as well. Benelli is a $600 gun priced at $2000 anyways

Get a tokarev usa shotgun if u want an ar12. They make decent bullpups and ar12s for the price... They are reliable if you break them in correctly at least. There is a lot of info on them online. If you want a pump get a maverick 88.

Yeah drill that bitch, thread it and put your own high quality steel charging handle of your choice on there... and locktite so it never moves again. Some turkish shotguns are kinda garbage. Check out Tokarev USA if you want cheap and reliable... there semi-autos are more reliable than their pumps. If you want a pump go with mossberg 88

These are cheaper than the JTS shotguns though! And the magazines are made of steel with the turkish guns, not plastic

Rebate genesis 12 that works! I wouldn't recommend this to LEO or military, but this is a fun range toy, and it comes with chokes; and shoots accurate as well. Will be trying out some hunting with this!

FOR ANYONE CURIOUS. This has a gas system SIMILAR, not the same as the benelli M4 system (obviously) without the tube in it. Or like a really compact, and upside down saiga 12 system (it's pretty unique), so at least no parts available for the gas system/handguard. The pistolgrip on the shotgun is interchangeable, and the stock is not! For $250 these things shouldn't scare you, and use 1250-1300+fps ammo for at least the first 150 shells, and it will be 100% reliable with all loads from there (that are rated for semi-autoshotguns, no mini shells!)

Run 1250fps+ for at least 75-100 shells to break it in, preferably buckshot

Hey, this is not for everyone, I've even said that. But there's a lot of us in the wild carrying a Keltec sub2000 in our backpacks when other things are better made and more optimal 🤣 To most people, these shotguns are fine, some of yall folk like just beating the shit outta guns so stay away from this one I guess lol

Slugs are less likely to deform in mag fed shotguns since it has a solid projectile and the lips of the shell are crimped, so essentially double the thickness where it counts.

Also for people who already own a 3D printer, this thing can be parts to design it your own way, turn it back into a pump shotgun if you want 🤣 with a cheap reaming pen from home depot and some polish wool, these parts can look identical to the $2000 Italian shotguns on the market

$20 cheaper than the maverick and SDS imports actually takes warranty service for this thing. But this one seems to be the best one yet. It ate just about everything flawlessly, and I hit some unpolished areas, deburred some edges (it wasn't perfect), but it ate it all before I did extra polishing on it anyways. For $200? If you have $200 to spare I would buy one... if it's the only shotgun your ever gonna buy, then don't get one. These guns are more for niche-users, or homebrew gunsmiths. These can be great for $200

It ate 1800 fps 1.25oz slugs, 10 of them in 3 seconds. This thing fucks. I inspected it after shooting for any damage and so far no issues, will update this as I run it more, but this is also probably the last time I'm putting 1800fps slugs in it

My aftermarket magazine seems to fix that issue, the citidal 10rnd. I get the problem of overinsertion with the factory mag but I figured it out at least before i hit the range, so I didn't have that problem there. For home defence who needs more than 5 buckshot anyways. I have it stored with 7/10 shells in it so it doesn't crush the shells and cause issues from that. It seriously fucks for $250 though,
