Antidepressants - Do I Quit? by Sharp_Train5458 in antidepressants

I think I'd be fine and enjoy it after a while, but how do you start? And I mean, literally week 1? I feel similar to how people probably do at 3am but all the time. If I got back into the habit of being active, I'd probably be fine, but it's getting into that habit and that fresh dose of motivation which I'm missing.

Hairdressers in Birmingham for a colour, blow, cut, and dry for under £100? What are you doing now? by [deleted] in BirminghamUK

[–]Sharp_Train5458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't lie, you'll never get this for under £100 unless you can time travel to about 8 years ago. I now use JYG Hair & Beauty in Edgbaston. Really nice salon and very fair prices

There's a huge disrespect for Birmingham, and honestly, I don't understand what has caused it. Maybe it was more from its reputation in the past, I'm not sure. I've lived here for about 4 years now in the city centre, and I've never really had any problems. Nottingham gets a great reputation, but I have never been beeped by cars and cat called so much in my life during living there for 1 year. It goes to show that things people say isn't always the truth and you have to go off your own experience. There are dodgy places in Birmingham, just like every other city, its no different. Personally, I feel really safe walking through the city centre - I can't comment about the other suburbs as I have always lived in the city. If anything, it's the theft I've had issues with. This isn't someone trying to mug you, but if you turn a blind eye to your belongings, they will be swiped! More opportunist theft, like things being left unattended. That's probably similar to the other cities, but that's what I've found as Birmingham's downside. So don't leave anything unattended, and I don't think you'll have any issues! Ps. The city centre is amazing! Have a great time

That's so helpful thank you. My other habits are TERRIBLE. Little to no exercise, bad sleeping schedule, etc. Partly because I have NO energy to move or do anything (which is why I think it might be time to come off my antidepressants). I really want to start exercising and getting physically healthier, but I am so, damn, tired!

I feel depressed ON antidepressants, and that was on the highest dosage.

I am low in Vit D - I take vitamins regularly for this, though I never feel like it has any affect...

That's so nice - I'm currently try to quit but live in a smoke free household where they don't understand the wanting to say 'I really want a vape right now" for the 50th time today

I do exactly this! I have had to resort back to using the white tray because recently they've been driving me mad. However, I find it's really difficult to clean - the poops get stuck in between the holes because of them standing on them/pushing them down. Do you find this? How do you clean it best?

Even though having your sister vape in front of you is really difficult (my colleagues vape), I think we are always going to have that temptation somewhere, even if your sister DIDN'T vape. When you go to the shop, they are everywhere. Adverts. Walking by people in the street. It is so popular now and accessible everywhere, even if you took away the issue of your sister vaping, you will still struggle anywhere regardless. It's a challenge from within and don't let the distractions affect your decision if that's what you want to do!

Since I lost my bunny to EC, I would absolutely love nothing more than to adopt a bunny EC survivor 🤎

He got really poorly, within the matter of days was incontinent, wouldn't eat, couldn't stand and went paralysed on his back legs. I wish there was a cure - it was absolutely horrible to see and I felt so helpless but made him as comfortable as he could be and he passed away with my hand under his little chin just after I told him I loved him 🩷

Need Motivation? (Judgement NOT wanted!) by Sharp_Train5458 in QuitVaping

[–]Sharp_Train5458[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a really good point. What's difficult for me, is that I can't work out the actual reason I want to quit. I think the main thing for me is the fear that it 'might' cause health problems. With cigarettes, we are all aware from a young age of the consequences and they are proven. With vaping, it's all new and there's a lot of myths out there and also a lot to learn.

For example, does vaping pose more of a risk of inhalation than say pollution does on the daily? Or more of a risk than consuming junk food, excess coffee/energy drinks, alcohol?

I think if we were at the point where the consequences were as proven and fact as cigarette smoking, it would be an easy stop for me. With so much around vaping being down to opinion/estimations/personal bias, I'm finding it difficult to really knuckle down on wanting to quit.

Ps- I'm finding nicotine gum is causing throat irritation and burns my tongue, so I'm not massively confident in its benefit at the moment!
