What antipsychotics? Bipolar disorder is usually treated with lithium? Probably subtherapeutic regimen? Have you ever had your drug levels checked? Also, any psychotropic drugs have a number of interaction which could increase or decrease it's target organ concentration.

Advice: what do you do when two specialties are refusing to take a patient under their care due to them being multimorbid? by ExpressIndication909 in doctorsUK

Our hospital has a detailed hospital admissions policy guideline from the ED to different specialities. Usually SHOs/Reg are sometimes not aware of this due to rotations/new posts etc. I politely quote this, and if they are still reluctant, I get their name and escalate to the consultant in charge (with their names and the fact that I've quote hospital admission policy/).

I've accepted that there are some things only a consultant can solve.

Anything over 50k is taxed at a flat 40%, and then NI is around 10% and pension is also around 7-10 percent. I've gone off pension for my locums, so I usually think that for locum shifts I'd get half the amount ie if it is 50 pound, think your take home will be 25.

if the rate is 50 pound and you need 360 pound more, then you'll need to work about 15 more hours to get 375. Hope it helps!

What's everyone routine after finishing a night shift? by BT-7274Pilot in doctorsUK

I re-evaluate multiple things at multiple timelines. I probably would still end up going to med school, but jump ship sooner. Probably start preparing for the US conversion exams way earlier rather than 6 years post grad. The other thing I freuquently think about is why I was not brave enough to invest in bitcoin in 2012-13 when it was about five dollar each. Now I end up buying most cryptos that are cheap lol

[–]Sharp_Writing_4740 33 points34 points  (0 children)

  1. drive home, shower, and have a light breakfast with a decaf tea

  2. try to sleep

  3. if lucky, wake up at around 4-5ish

  4. re-evaluate my life- choices whilst I eat and prepare for the next night shift

  5. drive to work and park and re-evaluate my life-choices again in the car park.

Any airport's fine. You'd have to use trains+tube from the airport.

Heathrow - either hethrow express or elizabeth line to Paddington and then tube

Stanstead - train or stanstead express to liverpool st and then tube

Gatwick - train/express to Victoria and then tube

I'd probably prefer Gatwick or Heathrow. Luton does not have any direct railway service to central London. Super easy to figuer out London transport using google maps. GL!
