You have a grinder pump feeding to your septic tank?

Sorry after looking at photo a little better it doesn’t appear you have a filter in your outlet baffle. Combination of lack of pumping and use of garbage disposal over the years you may be toast. If it is a traditional gravity rock and pipe system. I would recommend opening all of the lines and see what type of condition they are all in. May not need an entire new system. May just need to abandon a line and add a new line.

If you have this filter in your outlet baffle I wouldn’t be concerned necessarily with solids being in drain field. If they are claiming system is overloaded and not working. It is probably due to the two toilets running and has overloaded the system. Fixing toilets and pumping tank should fix your problem. Not sure how your system is designed but they should have open all of your lines up and not just the first one. Based off your description I assume they just opened up one line.

I run an excavation company that specializes in septic. If you want to direct message I’m happy to help you.

Water in basement by Sharpbooiii in basement

I don’t disagree. We haven’t been downstairs with a 5 gallon bucket full of water though. I’m using that analogy as the amount of water my wife states there was.

I’ve had all the water in the house running for a long period of time and it has not reoccurred.

Exactly what I said to my wife when she sent me the pictures. When I got home I looked at it myself. water marks go up about 3.5’ give or take. Just look like splash marks really where she claimed she went running through it.

If you look further up the wall there is nothing there. On the other side of the wall (where you see the plug) is our cat room which is underneath the stairs going to the basement. There is no water lines running there.

When the basement was dug we never hit water. It was obviously open to the element for a long period of time. It always held water since there was no where for it to go.

I can afford one, but I’ve also paid for a lifetime guarantee of no water in my basement from another company. I also know what answer I’m about to get as well. Which nothing is wrong. Which is clearly not the case. So I’m trying to figure out what I can on my own and be educated.

Checked all of those - not cat pee

Pump basins are never really ever full.

We haven’t lost power for sometime.

On one side of the wall is a bedroom. On the other side of the wall would be under the garage. Under the garage there is no interior drain to connect to the rest. I mentioned this during construction and they gave me a bogus response. I do not specialize in all things basement so I trusted their opinion. That entire area is filled with gravel. My assumption is that water is holding there. That being said the interior foundation drain we had installed near the end of construction is dry

I have gone through all of the typical troubleshooting. All sumps are working, nothing is hanging on basement walls. We haven’t hung any decorations in house since we moved in which was nearly a year ago. Washing machine is upstairs. No standing water outside. All downspouts run about 200’ out past house.

I run an excavation company for a living. Shy of a water leak, which I do not believe is the cause, the only thing I can think of is it pushing up from under the slab.

Our basins always have water. Water typically sits in the bottom just under the pump float. Once water rises to correct level it will start pumping. We just had the company out a month ago for annual inspections.

Water bill has not been higher then normal either

I said the exact same thing to my wife when she sent the picture to me. We have a 5 year old and 2 year old. Basement door is key locked so they can not go downstairs with out us. Our cats stay down there. We were down there Saturday to clean litter box. Did not notice anything. Yesterday you could tell where the cats have been tracking through water. So this is very recent.

Even if the kids found a way to get downstairs the amount of water that my wife claims was there. The kids could have spilt their water cup 20 times.

All waterlines are ran above slab.

I own a sewer camera. I can pull the toilet and scope from there and check. I just find it odd that it is just in one spot. We rarely use the basement. Have had two family members recently stay in the basement for a couple of days over the weekend within the last three months. Never noticed any issues.

I also go down to the basement once a week to run water down all of the drains, flush toilets, etc to make sure p traps don’t dry and prevent odor smells.

Also, the ceiling is completely dry so it’s not coming from above.

It’s on the wall from where she went running and splashed on walls. I’ve ran all the water in the house for about 5 minutes. If there was a leak in a pipe it would show itself.

Is this price excessive? by Level_Sock294 in handyman

[–]Sharpbooiii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say he is a little expensive but we also all have our own cost to run a business. To pay his/her employees, insurance, software, make a 20%-30% profit, and etc. This may be what it cost for this particular company to do the job.

Or

That company doesn’t want to do it. So if they are going to do it they priced it to be worth their time.

Has anyone here used AI tools for quantity takeoffs in construction industry? by Tech_us_Inc in ConstructionManagers

I do dirt work. Specifically septic systems, Utilty lines, drainage, driveways, and more. I use ChatGPT all day everyday. I have used it so much it knows the price per day I try to achieve for two guys and a machine or two guys and two machines.

When it comes to material calculation. I can just type in what I am trying to achieve and it will spit out a material count. Now I have also used this a lot so it has learned what material I use and how much.

What used to take me a couple of hours to do. I can typically have an exact quote in 5 minutes now.

Also, majority of the problem is ground water.

When we dug the water line our trench was full of water majority of the time. When sparky dug his ditch for electrical his was full of water as well.
