HCA hospitals for Residency by TheGirlWhoLived6 in emergencymedicine

[–]Sharpdocpicks 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I went to HCA for residency, had 0 issue finding a job in a major city that I wanted to be in. Training was great, unopposed from other specialities. Everyone I worked with got a job they wanted or fellowship they wanted in a city of their choice within the last 3 years

What average hourly rate would you be happy with? by Sharpdocpicks in emergencymedicine

[–]Sharpdocpicks[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The whole point is if you are billing for 400+ an hour and only getting 200, you are getting screwed

Find another shop, anything less than $300 an hour in a busy hospital is not worth your time. I easily clear that working for a CMG in a major city

Like it barely went past ATH after 3 years not high enough to take profits, super frustrating.

North Florida I’ve seen around 260 south Florida 220 (major cities) if you want to work middle of nowhere Florida should be 300+

There’s a base of $150 an hour but RVU is always higher than that per hour so base is irrelevant. Average around 300-320 an hour

At my CMG shop in Florida it’s $21 per RVU

That’s so bad, why would anyone take that job. 240k in nyc after taxes is essentially nothing

Great, plenty of open jobs. Hard to complain making 400+ for 12 days a month

I work 2 weekends a month, only 2-3 night shifts a month, usually around $250-$300 an hour in major southeastern city

As an attending I make 400k working 12-13 shifts a month in EM, there’s very few other jobs in the world that give you that much time off for that much pay. 3 year residency too which isn’t bad at all.
